5.0 out of 5 stars An AWESOME book!
Once again, Bishop Jakes has spent time talking with God and relaying it as only he can and in such a way that all can relate and understand. This books looks into the hearts and soul of many women, including myself. Healing is what it's all about...learning how to get beyond and to really be free from those things that hinder us from going forth in this world...

3.0 out of 5 stars This book is hyped up, but you still should read it!
I think this book has some great points and is a good read - it definitely touched my heart and altered my perspective a little bit (about dealing with men). But the author goes a little overboard with all these metaphors - it drove me crazy! The book is also a little disorganized and repetitive. T.D. Jakes basically tells you what any other self-help book would, except...

Once again, Bishop Jakes has spent time talking with God and relaying it as only he can and in such a way that all can relate and understand. This books looks into the hearts and soul of many women, including myself. Healing is what it's all about...learning how to get beyond and to really be free from those things that hinder us from going forth in this world. Bishop shows us how to balance our lives and achieve this inner peace that we all long for.

I am not married but this book showed me how we as women should treat our husbands. At this point in my life, God is my husband and my Lord. I have learned how to worship and adore God as I would the mate that he will bring into my life. That book is an encouragement in itself in that Bishop Jakes tells us that we can have it all spiritually and emotionally.

I recommend this book to any woman who has a desire to grow and to really know what it means to be whole. I would also encourage all women to attend the Woman, Thou Art Loosed seminar in July. Last year it was breathtaking. This book really follows behind that whole seminar. I thank God for using Bishop Jakes in such a way. Bishop really has a deep compassion for women and for that I am thankful.

Keep up the good work Bishop!

5.0 out of 5 stars Burns images for self-transformation into your mind!, May 19, 2003
By
Nosferatu (Albuquerque, NM United States) - See all my reviews
A quick scan of the chapter titles is enough to pull you into this book. Once you begin reading it, you cannot put it down. The author maintains that every woman has three primary relationships: the one with herself, the one with her husband, and the one with her Lord. Before she can reach a state of balance in life, she must have each of these relationships firmly grounded and running smoothly.

A woman cannot establish a relationship with her husband until she has a good relationship with herself. She must feel like a lady in order to project those positive traits that will attract goodness into her life. This manual teaches a woman how to achieve a tranquil inner balance and project positive qualities. It teaches a woman how to create a balance between her three relationships.

This is one of the most powerfully written self-help books that I have found. The analogies are so picturesque that they will remain in your mind long after you finish reading the book. For example, the following statement is from early in the first chapter:

"Sadly, sometimes we place ourselves so far on the back burner that the dreams boil out and leave only a parched pot where once we had personal expectation. When dreams boil out, a scorching heat of stress and anxiety causes the kettle to give a shrill sound before the burning begins. That shrill sound can be heard in our excesses and overindulgences..."

Wow! Can you not picture that? Does it not leave a permanent picture, warning you to take care to not push yourself to the back burner as you work to put others first? The entire book is filled with wonderful analogies like this one. Even if you have trouble remembering what you have read, you will recall the images formed by this book and be able to associate them with their lesson.

The book is composed of 239 pages. It is divided into three sections with a total of 16 chapters. I highly recommend it to all women. The author has a way with words that is sure to inspire. He has written several other books, including Woman, Thou Art Loosed and The Great Investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING FOR ALL WOMEN AGE 13+, March 30, 2000

T. D. Jakes opens your heart to all the Lord wants for us as women. This book is easy to read and his beautiful use of language heightens the wisdom he imparts with a constant flow of emotion. Being a two-time cancer survivor, divorcee, and recently turning 50, I had begun to let go of the notion that I would be blessed with new, rewarding, fulfilling experiences. Thank God a friend recommended this book. I now know that I am the Lord's Lady, that he has a Lover for me somewhere (and, if not, that's OK), and that my Lord has infinite blessings waiting to be uleashed. I look forward to working with my new "tag team" partner, Jesus, to let his Glory shine through my life. Ladies, its YOUR life, let Him use you and enjoy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars God's Lady!, October 2, 2000
T.D. Jakes has a way of knowing what women want, and need. With the well received "Woman Thou Art Loosed," and the follow up "Daddy Love His Little Girls," now women everywhere are praising "The Lady, Her Lover and Her Lord!" He knows what women think and offer how we can get what we desire, along with scripturally-based reasons why we don't. His books touch on crucial topics such as, A Woman with Balance (chapter 5) that allows women to see the need for balance in all areas of their lives. The husband, the children, work and God need equal attention to be fruitful. If we become too one sided in our focus then something suffers.

In chapter 9 T.D. Jakes discusses Pillow Talk, where he enlightens us regarding the power of words and how we need to be an encouarging feminine voice that doesn't tear down, but instead learn how to compliment, encourage and build up. T.D. Jakes is saying that while we will all have disagreements, women should never become a nagging presence, but instead a soothing one, reminding the man in her life that she will now and forever support him. He urges us to allow our words to be words of caring and nurture.

Chapter 14 eloquently touched on the topic of Serving the Lord and Making the Money. He reminds us as the bible warns that we cannot serve two masters. Money and career is only an enhancement of our lives and should never become the scope of who we are. God should be the focus of all of our endeavors. I highly recommend this enlightening book for every woman who seeks a deeper understanding of themselves, their spouse and their God. T.D. Jakes is inspirational and gently touches on topics that meet the needs of women everywhere. The Lady Her Lover and Her Lord not only gives us Godly instruction, but also the inside track from T.D. Jakes perspective as a man.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ladies, We've Got To Prepare Ourselves, December 14, 1999
By
Irene D. Jackson (Ohio, United States) - See all my reviews
This book is very inspiring for married women and also for single women. Reading this book as a young single woman has taught me to embrace my Lord and to wait on my Lover. I truly believe that a woman has to be trained to become a lady. This book is a good resource(after the Holy Bible)to prepare Women for the Princes God will present them to. If you haven't read this book you're missing out on a real blessing!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for women striving to be the Proverbs 31 woman., February 4, 2000
By A Customer
This book was excellent. I couldn't put it down and read it in less than two days. I have never recommended a book to anyone, and I must say this book was excellent. I've never known a man to know a woman's perspective on things so well. He also added some advice so that we would be able to understand the men in our lives. I promise anyone who reads this book won't be disappointed.

T.D. Jakes touches a part of a woman who is striving to be a lady that we have believed long gone. Very talented, simple and touching each word is rejoicing in the spirit of being a LADY. I have gone deeper into myself and touched my soul with this book. GOD will bless each person who reads this book by the words he allows to flow out of the blessed pen this man writes with. Ladies, this should be the pillowbook you share with your man, your lover, your husband.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is for every woman and the man who loves her!, June 6, 1999
By A Customer
Ladies and men, if you want your whole understanding of self, relationships, and spiritual identity aligned with the Word of God, this is a great place to start. I read it through, and my husband saw such a differene in how I related to him and others that now HE is reading it. I am a better wife, a better mom, a better daughter of our Father God. It is the Spirit who heals us, but it is obvious through this book, and his others, that Bishop Jakes has been anointed to speak the words of healing into women's lives. If you want the book but are waiting, QUIT WAITING! Buy it! Loose the Spirit of healing into your life, and you will see differences you thought had long since left you behind! God bless you!

5.0 out of 5 stars NOW ladies can exhale FOR REAL!!!, June 2, 2001
T D Jakes is one of the few men who genuines loves, cherishes and adores women in the biblical sense, and when a woman who's been treated less than precious reads this book, she will QUAKE. This man, using biblical examples and beautiful imagery, breaks down that the trinity must work together to make a loving, healthy relationship. His message to women is to cherish yourself and your Divine purpose, to find men who will fall in line with that and how the Lord can ease the burdens for both. Jakes' words make you feel so beautiful and divine that you can't help but seek out a brother who can come correct, and he breaks down how God fits into it all. A beautiful, beautiful book with many necessary truths and advice on how faith and the Lord can lead the way to relationships we deserve. If you are a woman who has just left an unhealthy relationship, or you're in the process and need healing, this book is a GODSEND!! TD Jakes is truly, truly blessed!!!
