UPDATE from my below comments: I have since sed the basic instructions from my other mixes (just the back of the box) and I must change my review to FANTASTIC as far as taste/quaility goes, now that I have become a steady bread maker, I know 2-1/5 cups of flour for white bread and 2-1/4 for heavy ww & ryes, 1 t yeast, 3/4 c water and some oil/butter and that is all the instrctions that yo need for this great bread mix!

This product presents itself as "top shelf" and ingredients look good, but the directions are just about non-existant and you are just about totally on your own, I tried to prepare as another recipe that works great for me, but it wind up being a total mess and cleanup on this. I would not buy this again, unless I was sure they now included through instructions............so I did not waste my money

For those of you who are native to NY and the rye bread baked by some of the best, then you know what I mean by NY Rye. Substantial. Dense. Try making a ruben and grilling it with any of these ryes breads. Stands up to the grill too! I made the american rye on the white bread setting and the crust was a bit too light for me. But the bread was baked perfect! You judge which setting for crust. The pumpernickle was insanely delicious.

I reccomend when buying a bread machine (west bend) you also add these to the gift giving. Your recipent will forever thank you.

I like this so much, I have already ordered more for my food storage. They also have a wonderful website with helpful information.

The Rye Bread Machine Mixes collection is a superb product. Contrary to some reviews there is no problem with instructions. So far I have made 8 loaves of bread with excellent results although the dough did not rise to fill my 2 lb machine. If you love rye bread this is a must product! Be creative and add your own herbs, spices or substitute for the water and oil.
