This book is a great push for the writer who wants to proceed to the next step. Broken into three sections, the book contains advice on how to make sure your story isn't a dud, how to avoid procrastination, and when to take risks in writing (and in life).The author gives excellent practical advice in a light and humorous tone. Fun examples illustrate the principles she describes, and they are easy to follow. The first section imparts techniques that can be used both on a finished manuscript, or while still developing a story idea. The second and third sections are both more personal stories of the author overcoming roadblocks in her writing. I laughed at some of the distractions she faced, because I've been there too! After reading this book I felt ready to tackle my current project with fresh ideas. It was well worth the 99 cents! |
