Whoa Nelly! Guitar Lickin Southern Fried Chicken!,
By Christopher J. Scott "unclehoundsthecat" (Denver, CO United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: For Lovers Only (Audio CD)
If you like surf music and a taste of irony, slap your toupee on, wrestle that bear, and belly up to the bar! Without a doubt this is my favorite album of the Southern Culture oeuvre. The lyrics are witty, the guitar work gritty, and the groove pithy! I don't know a person who hasn't heard the album and loved it. It is just downright fun and well worth the coin!

I love this band. They are fun and great to listen too. I had never heard of them and then my sister gave me one of their cd's and I now own three and plan on owning more of them.

SCOTS Finest hour,
This review is from: For Lovers Only (Audio CD)
SCOTS finest hour contains a plethora of classic material. The title cut was the first dance at my wedding. "Biscuit Eater" is simply the sexiest rock and roll song EVER! And dig that slamming backbeat! "Link's Lung" is a tribute as ferocious as anything the man himself did at his peak of powers. This album is hilarious, sexy and heartfelt at the same time.

This isn't one of their better albums. But "Daddy Was a Preacher but Mama was a Go-Go Girl" is great.
