Many books have been written on the subject, and it is one of the most explored themes in the visual arts. With her visionary art, Sulamith Wulfing captured the many different aspects of relationship. This deck, with color reproductions of her paintings, takes an intuitive approach to relationship work, and can be used alone or with a partner.

The deck is used by laying out the cards with color images face up. Individuals or couples relax and concentrate on the relationship for which they seek answers. Allowing the Higher Self to choose the right card, they make a selection, read the message, and take it to their hearts. They may then discuss the message, coming to a deeper understanding of their relationship.

About the Author

Internationally acclaimed artist SULAMITH WULFING was born in 1901 in Wuppertal-Elberfeld, Germany and had her first exhibition of paintings there in 1923. During WWII, she was forced to flee the Nazis with her son and mother while her husband fought for Germany. The family experienced a number of tragic events before they were reunited at Christmas 1945. (She was convinced that only the spiritual support of her teacher, Jiddu Krishnamurti, kept her from the concentration camps.) The years after the war were filled with intense artistic activity and publishing. She died in March 1989 at the age of 88.

This deck with the beautiful,inspiring pictures of ladies and knights are for all who love the paintings of the wonderful artist Sulamith Wulfing.You can use it as an oracle,or have it for the pictures.When I use it as an oracle,I study what the picture has to say,as Sulamith wanted us to do with all her work.The text on the cards are not bad,but not by her.
You can give it to a small child,because the pictures could well illustrate fairy tales,and they have an uplifting,inspiring, and pure image of what love should be.It reminds me of the Swedish John Bauer.
The cards are small,and easy to carry with you,to remember that there are such things as true love.

The art of Sulamith Wülfing (1901-1989) reveals a hidden mystical world that captures the beauty and spirituality of darkness and light, fairies and angels, and otherworldly spirits. In the Lovers Oracle deck, Wulfing's imaginative art captures the many different elements of relationship.

You can draw a card for guidance, or select one with your partner and discuss the message in the context of your relationship. The Lovers Oracle features 40 colorful paintings by Wulfing on one side, with a black and white illustration and message on the other.

Some of the quote found on the cards:

"It is better to be hated for you are than loved for what you are not."

"If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, it was truly meant to be."

"If each time I thought of you were a flower, I could walk in my garden forever."

"Love will die if held too tightly; love will fly if held too lightly."

"The love from the soul is wholly without condemnation; it sees imperfection, but because of what it sees, more love flows."

While many of the quote are wise and inspirational, they are too light-weight to truly be oracular. I can see the Lovers Oracle working very well for those contemplating the nature of relationships and love, but it won't offer much in terms of comprehensive guidance like many oracles. If you love the art of Sulamith Wulfing and the sentimental, romantic nature of love, you'll enjoy this pretty deck.
