I first heard a track from this album on our local jazz station in the morning and stopped dead in my tracks--even though I was running late. The DJ said that the sound was "Armani," and I agree, even though I'm a utilitarian dresser myself. The sound haunted me and Farinacci's name escaped me until I heard another track. I ordered the CD, and when I play it, I no longer want to go to work.

This CD is an example of elegant and tasteful trumpet playing. Dominick is surrounded by some of the top jazz musicians in NYC and yet he comes off as the real star. The trumpet playing is impeccable, he has a gorgeous, beautiful tone which reminds me of Freddie Hubbard when he was at his most sumptuous. Dominick's improvisations are beautiful flights of fancy that extend the lyrical lines of the songs in an intuitive, logical and stunning manner.

You won't hear anyone else playing music this beautiful, the Astor Piazolla, the Ornette Colemean, the Verdi and the romantic standards are all handled with grace and style. He will be on tour in the spring of 2010. Don't miss him, he's the real thing.

I get so much pleasure from listening to this man play...what an accomplished and talented artist! If you never buy another Jazz/Blues Trumpet music c.d. for the rest of the year - be sure to GET THIS ONE!! In fact - Christmas is coming up - these would make a SUPER gift!!!!

Bought this CD based on hearing a couple of samples and the other reviews. Whoa! I like this kind of music, but this CD is really boring. Boring! Chris Botti (commercialized), Till Broener, Mathias Eick, Enrico Rava, Tomasz Stanko, etc. have much more lively and/or interesting stuff.
