5.0 out of 5 stars So sweet. April 15, 2012
I really like these movies my fave is Love's Enduring Promise. Love begins is the first movie and Love Finds a Home is so far the last. Just so you know that Love begins and Love's Everlasting Courage are prequels. Which means that they take place before the first movie that was made, Love Comes Softly. If you have any questions about the series just post below.

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Friendly Movie about A Parent's Love April 25, 2012
The 411 by Maria:
Since I am new series, this was a big surprise for me and now I must see Love Begins. I believe I hosted a giveaway but never saw it myself. I love this era of movies. Reminds me of all the years I watched Little House On The Prarie. Julie Mond who plays Ellen for all your General Hospital fans played Lisa Niles for a while. Love her! It was strange seeing Cheryl Ladd as someone's grandma. Great cast.

When the Davis family's farm takes a hit from the drought, Ellen does what any loving wife would do for her family; she takes a job as a seamstress in town. When Clark's parents come to visit, his mother Irene is concerned that Ellen is working "in my day wives didn't work." Clark's dad, Lloyd played by Bruce Boxleitner completely understands how his son's family is struggling and wants to help the farm.

Ellen is stricken with Scarlet Fever and Clark must be a full time parent to their young daughter Missy, adorably played by Morgan Lily who I fell in love with in 2012 and Flipped.

Clark's parents are the perfect supportive parents we all wish for and through their help, the Davis Family work together through love to keep their hearts open.

What I love most about this movie which was one of Hallmark's highest viewed series is the simplicity and quietness of life, family and love. I was often reminded of Little House on the Prairie and spent some time trying to find out where it was filmed but couldn't find much.

Wonderful family movie about the love of family.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Love's ever April 22, 2012
I have shared the Love's series with many of my friends and family. A truly superb series. With the trashy shows out there this is a great christian based movie series. Love Janette Oke's books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love This Series and Love Wes Brown March 25, 2012
I have enjoyed all the movies and I especially liked seeing Wes Brown as the leading man. I saw it a while ago before it was released on Amazon. I know because I came looking for it. Just remembering the story brings a smile. The series is great as a whole and this one in particular I really enjoyed.

The first DVD in the "Love" series. This series has no swearing and is great for the entire family and kids to watch because it is an interesting storyline and it also teaches good moral values to families.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Series Addition August 24, 2012
By Fiona
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I have all of the Love Series DVD's. They are all wonderful. This one makes a great addition to the ones I already have. I would recommend this series because it is great viewing for the whole family. It is sad to see how hard life was in the prairie days, but joyful to see how close families were despite illness, death of family members, hunger, famines and other stressful times. We should all be thankful for the many luxuries we enjoy today and not take them for granted!

2.0 out of 5 stars Liked the second least February 17, 2013
I wrote one other review for Love Begins and the problem with this movie is the same as that one. While it's a nice clean movie it just does not pack the emotional oomph of Love Comes Softly. As with Love Begins there are just unbelievable things in it. Like they live way out on a ranch and repeatedly run into town for fixin's for dinner, like we would run to the grocery story now. I don't believe they did that. I couldn't believe Clark as portrayed in Love Begins because he is such a man of faith and it had him portrayed as not coming from that kind of background. In this second prequel, they aged Missy's mother, they aged Missy, but Clark is this younger man. How then does he age so rapidly overnight when Marty comes to town after his wife dies? I mean Missy is close to the same age, and Clark's still a young kid. Missy is also taller than the Love's Come's Softly Missy, but the actress has her speaking cantor down. She just gets shorter and blonder for the next movie? Aside from casting, my main problem with the movie is with the dialogue, the expressions they use which are just not from that time era, and the fact that you just don't feel as much for the main characters as with the subsequent films. And as I said on Love Begins, I don't know if that is bad screenwriters or a bad book prequel, but it just isn't as good of a movie. That aside, the one thing I did enjoy from the movie was getting to know more of the story that led to Love Come's Softly and the other films. So this one was my second least favorite with Love Begins being my least favorite of all. I'd watch it again just to know the story line, but that's about it.
