English Brat,
By Sun Set (Georgia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lovestorm (Paperback)
This is a story that takes place in 1664 on the Virginia coast and parts in England. Elizabeth is the daughter of Earl and is use to having everything her way. She is selfish, rude, and arrogant. On the journey to her betrothal in the New World a brutal storm hits leaving her stranded, far from civilization. Here she meets Cain, a tender hearted Lenni Lenape Warrior. He falls head over hills for her and nurses her back to health however she is a rich spoiled brat and belittles him. He returns her to the English and it goes on from there; her trying to decide if she could lower her self to a savage or marry the rich duke of England. There is also a part when the evil English terribly abuse Cain and take him back to England for entertainment. ( Atrocities like this did in fact occur and I glad this was added).
Judith French is a good writer and I adore "This fierce loving" however I found this story boring with very little action or romance. She wrote Cain so magnificent powerful and loving, it made me sick that he went for a witch like Elizabeth. I think he would have been better off destroying every last colony and marrying in own kind.
