Book Description

Tiernan is one of a kind. Beyond the divine dimples, killer blue eyes, and hard muscled body, Tiernan is also the only Fairy Godfather. Most of the Fairy Godmothers have no problem with keeping Tiernan around, but Reina isn’t like most Fairy Godmothers.

Amongst Fairy Godmothers, Reina is the best. Organized, efficient, logical. So why is it when Tiernan is around, all those qualities fly out the window? Reina doesn’t like that one infuriating male makes her lose control, and just wants him gone. Circumstances arise that just might let her get her wish, though not in a way she ever wanted.

Tiernan is given an assignment and told either get a Happily Ever After for a woman named Cinderella or he will no longer be a Fairy Godfather. Reina is going with him to supervise, but if Tiernan gets his way, he’ll get her to admit Happily Ever Afters can also happen to Fairy Godmothers.

Excerpt:

Chapter One

“Oh no, this can’t be. I’ll never hear the end of it from the Fairy Godmother Council!”

Tiernan’s fingers curled over the bloody mess that was once his stomach, viscera and blubber sliding through the multiple lacerations crisscrossing his body.

How in the nine hells did he get saddled with the most incompetent Fairy Godmother to ever exist? Leading the knight to the dragon, helping him overpower the beast, rescuing the princess and having them live Happily Ever After... Wasn’t that what Fairy Godmothers did every day? Instead, he got one who couldn’t find her butt with both hands.

“Glad your priorities are straight, Fairy,” he growled, with not enough strength to lift his head, not enough strength to even raise his voice and yell like he wanted. His legs were numb, and blackness settled around the edges of his vision. “’Go this way,’ you said. ‘Trust me.’ I knew I should never have listened. Since when can a female give directions?”

The blond Fairy’s head jerked around nervously. “What do I do?” she wailed, and Tiernan really wished he had the strength to hit her, gallantry be damned. That the female above him was crying, but not due to the fact he was about to die, really set his teeth on edge.

“I know!” she cried, her eyes wide as she bore down on him. “I can grant you a wish! You haven’t asked for one yet! Make a wish! You can wish for healing!”

What an adventure it would be to become a Fairy Godmother.

In his darkening mind, the words ping-ponged back and forth, brighter and more impressive with each volley. Tiernan tried to shake his head and dislodge the traitorous thought that seemed to come from somewhere outside of his own being. Blasphemy, insanity, such a thought. He was a knight.

With no king.

With no land.

With no family.

A knight who had nothing and no one to protect.

His lungs seized up. He was powerless to do anything but wait to see if they would work again. They did, but not without bringing up a quantity of blood through his throat and into his mouth as the price. Spitting out the blood, he knew there would not be another chance.

Before he could reflect, before he could decide if it was truly wise, he simply stated what the voice told him. “I wish I was like you, a Fairy Godmother.”

“What?” said Blondie Bimbette, not expecting this. “I didn’t say you could wish that!”

“You didn’t say I couldn’t,” Tiernan snapped back. “You just said make a wish. I did, now fulfill it before I die.” With that, he passed out.

A cacophony of voices, loud and argumentative, greeted him when awareness came upon him again. His eyes opened, and he saw her...

4.0 out of 5 stars When Romance and Fairy Tale Meet February 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Loving A Fairy Godmother

Danielle Monsch's imaginative tale of love and romance between a Fairy Godmother and the only Fairy Godfather has the perfect mixture of fairy tale, fantasy and a steamy romance. I was fascinated by the creative twist on fairy tale, which points out some of the human sides of the stories that get ignored or glossed over in children's versions; the issues of sex, physical attraction, and whether or not happily ever after can be had without something more than true love. I grew to love the relationship between the main characters, Tiernan and Reina, although I admit to an initial frustration that at first the attraction seemed only based on physical qualities. I yearned for some interaction between them that showed a love for something beyond the physical, especially as thirty years (in fairy land) have passed from Tiernan's initial wish to become a Fairy Godfather to this part of the story. I wanted more back story or more explanation of the tension before the move to steamy romance. Still I loved the story and the interaction between their story and that of Cinderella, whose Happily Ever After only comes when she accepts herself as a being able to give and receive love. An excellent read for anyone who loves a little fantasy and magic mixed with their romance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Got Romance Reviews - Loving a Fairy Godmother October 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
When Tiernan made the wish to be a fairy godfather, he had no idea what it all meant. Reina, one of the head fairies never warmed up to Tiernan, but maybe that's because she secretly lusted after the unorthodox fairy. Affirming Tiernan among the ranks of fairy godmothers will take him finally giving a human a happily ever after, but to get there will mean letting go of his own dissolutions and maybe even finding his own with the fairy godmother of his dreams.

The love story between Tiernan and Reina was the story to watch. I enjoyed watching their love grow despite their personal issues. I didn't love the side story with Cinderella nearly as much as the main storyline. Overall, a very interesting and entertaining (oh and steamy) take on the fairy godmother idea. A great story for a reader looking for a steamy fantasy story with a familiar twist.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Lively, Original Romp June 4, 2011
By Susanm
Format:Kindle Edition
A story with a fairy godmother - and godfather - starts off innocently enough with two strong characters who don't much like each other. Then there's a threat to one and a need to get Cinderella married off Happily Ever After. This romp turns into a beautifully sexy love story; it's cheerful and original.

I really liked this book. I thought the story line was great and fun while the characters are just fun to read. The "fairy godfather" is such a HOT SEXY character that I fell for him right after reading his character. Great read! Give it a try and you will like this book as much as I do. :] Also, try Pleasure Satellite by this same author Danielle Monsch. That book was good too! ^^

4.0 out of 5 stars Loving A Fairy Godmother by Danielle Monsch February 15, 2013

"Tiernan is one of a kind. Beyond the divine dimples, killer blue eyes, and hard muscled body, Tiernan is also the only Fairy Godfather."
"Amongst Fairy Godmothers, Reina is the best. Organized, efficient, logical."
Tiernan is about to lose his Godfather status because of his lack of producing HEAs (Happily Ever Afters). Reina is sent with him on his mission to run interference in case the Fairy King tries to sabotage his mission to get Cinderella her HEA. Little do either of them know that Sara, head of all Fairy Godmothers, has a mission of her own to accomplish.

"This surely ain't your momma's version of Cinderella." I suppose when I read this line in the description I should have suspected, but I didn't. I thought this sounded like a unique spin on the fairy tale Cinderella, and it was. But it was so much more than that. This novella was very entertaining and quite steamy. It also put a new twist into the Fairy Godmother myth that I really enjoyed.

Reina had her heart broken years ago by a man who wielded his charms very much like Tienan does and as a result she erected walls around her heart. Since Reina is his superior, she had to deal with him. Tienan was very popular with all the Fairy Godmothers as you can imagine, since he was the only Fairy Godfather. Having a Fairy Godfather was very controversial in Fairy Land and the Fairy King was looking for a way to be rid of Tienan since he turned down his daughter the Fairy Princess.

With Ms. Monsch's use of descriptive prose it took no time at all to suspend my disbelief and dive into this story. The plot was creative and moved forward nicely. The dialogue was engagingly witty and meaningful. Reina and Tienan's relationship became the focal point of this story and their journey had a very human aspect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving a Fairy Godmother -- BookWenches Reviews May 15, 2011

There is no way around it; Loving a Fairy Godmother is just plain adorable. I was absolutely delighted to find a Fairy Godpeople story with one of my favorite fairytales written into it. The premise is sweet, and the story will not disappoint the reader. Starting from page on,e this story will keep the reader riveted by the events and imagination of the author. I was hooked immediately.

I think this is probably my very first Fairy Godmother story, and if it isn't, it overshadows any other I may have read. The storyline is fresh and highly entertaining. The characters will take hold and make an imprint on your memory. I particularly enjoyed the humor-infused banter between the characters. The secondary characters do not play a huge part, but they are just as delightful as the main characters.

Ms. Monsch has a new fan in me, and I hope to see her writing many more books. She tells a wonderful tale and paints a vivid picture in the mind of her reader.

More About the Author

Born to the pothole-ridden streets of Pittsburgh, PA, USA Today Bestselling Author Danielle Monsch started writing in a time long ago, a time when there were not enough vampire stories to read and she had to write her own to fill the void. Yes, such a time of darkness did indeed exist.

Danielle writes stories full of fantastical goodness and plenty of action, but always with lots of romance (and a bit of woo-hoo!) mixed in. Vampires and Werewolves and Demons and Angels, Sword & Sorcery, Fairy Tales, Updated Mythologies and the like - if it's out of the ordinary, it's fair game for her stories.
