Australian Romance,
By
This review is from: THE LOVING HEART (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoy Lucy Walker's Australian romances. In The Loving Heart, the heroine is Elizabeth, a quiet English secretary waiting for the hometown boyfriend to finally propose. The chance to accompany the company's wealthy board member, Mrs. Morgan, on a cruise to Australia seems a fabulous opportunity and maybe it would even make Ralph miss her and produce a ring.
Instead she finds herself posing as the fiancee for Grant Jarvis, a legendary landowner. Elizabeth rises to the challenge and blossoms in the role. Unfortunately she finds herself losing interest in Ralph and in danger of losing her heart to the king of the outback. The situation is complicated by a rich young woman who considers Grant her own personal property and skillfully makes Elizabeth feel an outsider. An enjoyable read that delivers a romance with the colorful setting of a huge Australian station and the larger-than-life landowning families. |
