This review is from: Loving Him (Paperback)
Connie and Matt Wilson grew up as neighbours and were teenaged sweethearts, after Matt got over his crush on Greta, a local wild girl. Slightly younger than Matt and Greta, Connie was always hanging around them, trying to break into their magic circle and trying to make Matt see her as the love of his life. Three teenaged sons and fifteen years later, they take a short holiday in Rome where Matt spots Greta in a bar and goes after her. In an instant, the years fall away, Matt realises that he's always loved Greta and declares that he's staying in Rome with her. A shattered Connie returns home to the boys and friends, making feeble excusues for Matt's absence and dealing with the fallout of such a move. There's a great deal of angst which follows in this story and a few surprising and rather shocking revelations that emerge. I think thatI'm a bit sick of angst ridden people and am longing for a straight out murder and a bit of mayhem.
