Book Description

October 2003
Lana Tate dreams of the day she can leave Wyoming and live in a more civilized place like San Francisco or New York. Since her mother died her father has been paralyzed with grief, and Lana must sing in the saloon just to earn enough money to make it through the winter. She worries that if she doesn't find a way out of Wyoming soon she will die there just like her mother.

Taggart Morgan watches the reward for the capture of the legendary wild stallion grow until it reaches two thousand dollars. Lana learns of the reward and sees it as the answer to her dreams. The amount is more than enough to get her and her father to San Francisco, where she can finally live her dream of becoming an opera star.

Taggart expects competition for the stallion, but he never suspected that a delicate but determined young gal would be the one to stand between him and his goal.

The competition heats up as Lana and Taggart butt heads. Finally, when they see that neither can capture the horse alone, they team up. If they work together they can both accomplish their goals and go their separate ways. But the closer they get to their goal, the less important it seems, as these two hearts learn that love can make even impossible dreams come true.

Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Lana Tate ekes out a living singing in a Wyoming saloon to support her alcoholic, self-pitying father and herself. She longs to move to San Francisco, where she can do something with her exceptional musical talent. The last thing she wants is to wither away and die in this forsaken wilderness like her mother, a former opera singer. Hearing about a wild stallion and the $2,000 reward for its capture, Lana decides that this is her ticket out of town. Armed with sugar cubes and an even sweeter voice, she sets out on her mission, but Taggart Morgan has his eye on the same prize. As they are forced to work together, a third person wages a ruthless search for the same horse. This is the third in the Morgan Brothers series--following Saving Samantha (2002) and A Wanted Man (2002)--all wonderful books with strong, stubborn heroes and plucky heroines who aren't afraid to go toe-to-toe with them. More About the Author

Nancy J. Parra's love of story started early. Enthralled with Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House books, she tried to talk her 5th grade best friend into writing a pioneer book with her. When that didn't work out, she wrote stories on her own, but soon discovered her short stories were growing longer and longer. She wrote her first full length novel before she was 21. In an attempt to be practical, she got a BS in Journalism, but discovered it was more fun to interview the people in her head and returned to writing novels on the side. Nancy sold her first novel in 2002, and is always writing something new.
With an MA in Writing Popular Fiction, Ms. Parra has written articles on writing, and has given workshops on writing techniques to various library and writers groups. She writes a weekly blog on the art and craft of writing, www.nancyjparra.blogspot.com. Visit her website at www.nancyjparra.com for more information, a list of her books and full reviews. 5.0 out of 5 stars Must read -Nancy J. Parra keeps getting better, December 3, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Loving Lana (Hardcover)
Loving Lana is the third in Nancy J. Parra's Morgan brother series and she just keeps getting better. Lana Tate is a plucky heroine with a dream as big as the Wyoming wilderness, but Taggart Morgan has his own dream and they soon discover that their dreams are at odds. Taggart realises that he must compromise to win his dreams, but in the process he loses his heart.

Nancy J. Parra writes heros to fall in love with and this one is my favorite. I love the way Taggart's always trying to feed Lana. He's a big man with a heart of gold.

I can't wait for the next Morgan brother's story.
