Book Description

With a failed marriage in her past because of her inability to lose weight, 30-year-old teacher Autumn Walker gave up on love. She channeled all her energies into helping her students succeed. However, her hopes and passions are roused when she spots a drop-dead gorgeous hunk at a condo association meeting. But what are the chances that the sexy, hard-bodied Native American hunk surrounded by slender, sexy women will even notice the shy but passionate Autumn?

With the sharp edge of the grief of losing his beloved wife dulled, Seneka Elkhorn is ready to date again. He’s never been fond of pole-thin women with long, fake hair he dare not touch and who are too liberated to find submission to their man sexy. In Autumn he sees a woman he can rediscover love with and who will delight in being woman to his man. But convincing Autumn he wants a serious relationship will require patience and perseverance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get this book - you won't regret it! June 1, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
I bought this book yesterday and finished reading it early this morning. It's easily the best book I've read in a long time and is now one of my firm favourites. I loved everything about it and though Autumn kept going on about her size even after her and Seneka 'did the deed', I did understand her hesitance. There was not one character I didn't like, even my namesake, Seneka's mum. Big brother Braden was irreverent, very generous and very honest. You can't help but like him. I know he's got issues and can't wait to see how he overcomes them. I especially liked how the brothers were with each other as men and it made me wonder how they were as boys growing up. They just felt so real to me. As for Spring (Autumn's sister), she was perfect in every way and Autumn was lucky to have her in her corner.

Seneka and Autumn were so good together and that was evident to me even from the first chapter. Their interaction seemed so natural and yet they were complete strangers. Ms Lee did a very good job writing this book - a best seller for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleased March 24, 2011
After reading the good reviews for this book, it was a bad review that made me decide to try it out. The author of that review mentioned some of the elements within the book and I couldn't help thinking that wow that's just what I want to read. This is a true indication that we all have our own tastes. But to the book. I thought it was very well written and quite interesting. I thought the characters were memorable, likeable, and sexy. This book portrayed an accurate description of a couple coming to terms with their love for one another, and how falling in love is a lot like a winding road full of twists and turns. I thought the scene with his brother made the book different and added a different twist to her story. I advise those looking to read this book to do so if it sounds interesting to you. Any review is simply one person stating their opinion, which is based on their taste. I'm glad that I listened to my own instincts and read the book because otherwise I would have missed out on a great read.

1.0 out of 5 stars A study in frustration June 22, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This author can be hit or miss, and with this book it was a miss. The H/H were both over reactors and they broke up and got back together so many times it was not funny. I can't even tell you what all is wrong with this book because the list is from A-Z. Starting with semi-forced intercourse which bordered on rape and ending with****SPOILER ALERT***** the hero giving the heroine permission to make out with his brother to "Get it out of her system" I'd had enough. There is Alpha and then there is A@@hole. The line can be fine and this hero crossed it habitually. I wasn't going to even write a review but after seeing the glowing recommendations. I felt other readers deserved to know what kind of book this really was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Proud to be Me!! May 31, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If ever a book touches at the core of the heart of what women deal with when they have body image issues this is one. I like how the author deals with the subject in a matter of fact way, makes sure that we see the main players of her story as we should. The touch of realism that people like me need to enjoy seeing herself reflected in a book. Being a person that doesn't fit the standard of beauty that society holds to be perfect and Ideal, also being a person of color, seeing a main protagonist that reflects my reality always makes me smile. The fact that the book is good and an interesting read is icing on the cake. As always Marilyn pushes the proverbial envelope and teaches us that a writer is a flexible in her writing as her imagination will push her. I look forward to more books from her. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors.

2.0 out of 5 stars Agree ... Study in frustration... July 7, 2010
By Ms. O
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm about 2/3 thru this book and I'm ready to delete from my kindle. Recently enjoying the genre of erotic stories featuring plus size female, I brought this book based on the recommendations and the sample read. Boy, I wish Amazon had a money back feature for ebooks. The author writing is tight and crisp, that's not the problem. The issue is I cannot stand the female lead, Autumn. I originally liked the realistic set up of the book. Characters living real life. I get it Autumn has been hurt. Her self-esteem has been seriously wounded. But all of this? C'mon. She looks for issues that isn't there. Don't get me wrong, Neka has done his fair share of screw ups, but, he deserves a medal for dealing with Autumn. I liked her sister, Spring, and the other characters over her. The ONLY reason why I'm still reading this book is that I finish everything I read. After reading about her latest self-sabotaging (sp?) efforts, I had to write this review. I am too done with Autumn and if not for Neka, it wouldn't bother me if she lost him.

So my recommendation? I'm not one for recomending people not purchasing books. I'm interested in reading other stuff written by the author, 'cause her style is tight and you can submerge yourself into the story. I just wish the main character was more likeable. I guess my reaction of the story is a testament to her writing abilities. I'm giving it two stars. I like the authors writing style, just don't like the lead female character -- which makes it hard to enjoy the book.
