Book Description

Zebra Historical Romance October 1, 2005
Miranda Chase can't refuse when her pregnant sister asks her to return to their Colorado ranch, though her sister's new family is a painful reminder of everything Miranda knows she'll never have. Shell travel to the ends of the earth to protect Mercy's newfound happiness - even if it means sweet-talking Benjamin Lansing, whose claim to Mercy's ranch reaches beyond money. But despite Miranda's distrust of the man, the wet words come easily, as do the kisses...Ben isn't looking for love - and certainly not with Miranda, who is as pure and innocent as a spring flower. She has no need of a hardened man like him. All he wants is to collect what's owed to him and be on his way. But Miranda's soft touch is temptation indeed, and loving her - for now and forever - just might be what he's truly wanted all along...

From Booklist

In this sequel toLoving Mercy (2005), a year has passed, and a pregnant Mercy Clark is living a contented ranching life with her husband, Thaddeus Buchanan, and their adopted son. But soon their serene existence is shattered by the appearance of Mercy's sister, Miranda, her beautiful face scarred, and Benjamin Lansing, the brother of Mercy's deceased, abusive neighbor. Benjamin has come to the Colorado Territory to check on his orphaned nephew, the boy Mercy and Thad adopted. A wartime accident that cost Benjamin his fingers has also ended his career as an artist, so he's there to collect money he thinks the Buchanans have. After the attack that disfigured her face and killed her unborn child, Miranda needs to be with family and is shocked to be falling for another man, let alone Benjamin. With her spirited heroines, courageous heroes, and aura of distrust, Bodwell has written a worthy tale that can stand on its own, but libraries will want to have both titles. Shelley Mosley

More About the Author

Teresa Bodwell has always loved the rugged mountains and open spaces of the West. After serving in the U.S. Army, where she helped make the world safe for John Phillip Sousa music, she received a bachelor's degree from UCLA and a law degree from The University of Oregon. As an attorney she has done a variety of things from prosecuting bid riggers to defending consumer rights and helping clients manage the nightmare of divorce. It doesn't take long practicing law to see that life can be unfair and a joyous outcome is not always possible, yet she still believes in happily ever after. When she read her first romance novel, Teresa found a place where happy endings are guaranteed. She finds that writing love stories adds balance to her life.
Teresa lives with her family in western Montana where she teaches law and serves as a Girl Scout volunteer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Masterful characterizations, heart-tugging storyline!, November 27, 2005

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Loving Miranda (Zebra Historical Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Teresa Bodwell has managed to top herself in this sequel to Loving Mercy--LOVING MIRANDA has it all: a heroine scarred physically and emotionally but with the courage to lift her chin (and point her rifle)to defend both family and her belief in second chances; a crippled and brooding artist hero who learns the art of real love; the return of much-loved secondary characters and a nastier-than-ever villain-- AND a tender and an unexpected miracle that reminds us--poignantly--of the blessings of family. LOVING MIRANDA is a fabulous read and I applaud Ms. Bodwell's work--Bravo!

* This is the 2nd book in a 2 book series. I liked this one much better than the first book, Loving Mercy. The last part of this book was excellent. I still had many unanswered questions when I finished the book. The storyline was pretty good & I would recommend this book. Although I wasn't big on the first book I think I'd still recommend the entire story so you are familiar with the people in this book.
