Book Description

A guide to creating a life *your* way

Pregnancy is an incredibly important time of a woman’s life. It’s easy to feel like you’ve got to be “perfect” and do everything “exactly right” during those nine months. As an expectant mom, you can feel significant pressure from others, from the resources you consult, and even from yourself.

Loving the Pregnant You teaches you how to release that pressure and create the best experience for you. It is your guide to creating YOUR pregnancy YOUR way. So, no matter what happens on a given day, you love the pregnant you.

This book will help you answer the questions…

• How can I enjoy my pregnancy as much as possible?
• How can I deal with any issues that come up in an empowering way?
• How can I discover and stay true to the choices that I want to make during my pregnancy?
• How can I be the person I most want to be while expecting?
• How can I stay present to the miracle?

“Presents an empowering way to approach your pregnancy… a great resource for new moms or moms with children who want to rethink how they see themselves and intentionally consider how to have an enjoyable pregnancy.”
- ROBBYE D. MCNAIR, MD, Obstetrics Gynecology, Northwestern Memorial Hospital

“Great, easy read — incredibly informative and well-written. Amy Riley quickly gets at the heart of what a pregnant woman experiences.”
- JILL SALZMAN, Founder of The Founding Moms and Author of Found It:
A Field Guide for Mom Entrepreneurs

“I recommend this book to all of my HypnoBirthing and birth doula clients.”
- ROBIN ROSS, Certified Birth Doula, Certified HypnoBirthing Instructor,

As someone who works with new moms and moms-to-be, I definitely recommend this book! Amy shares women's stories in a way that empowers other women, even if they aren't pregnant at the time. I loved her honest and refreshing look at some of the issues women face, and practical ways to find what works for you in your pregnancy and life in general. Thanks Amy!

Amy does a wonderful job of tapping into the thoughts and experience of being pregnant. As you read and relate to each woman’s story you will love the pregnant you! In her interviews with over 100 women, each story brings forth a different perspective and approach to pregnancy. You are sure to experience little breakthroughs and a-ha moments to empower you throughout your pregnancy. I particularly loved the “Okay Let’s Be Real” sections of the book. Oh so refreshing!!! A great read for anyone who is expecting a little miracle.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Comprehensive and Loving Guide February 6, 2014
Format:Paperback
I first want to disclose that I know Amy. She has been both a friend and someone I have mentored in the world of publishing for the last couple of years. But I am always honest about the books I help my authors write and publish and this book definitely deserves a strong recommendation.

Amy has taken the time to really guide expecting mothers on the wide variations as to what to expect. Especially for first-time mothers, pregnancy can be very scary. I also think this book is great for moms of daughters or daughter-in-laws. When someone in your family is expecting everyone is impacted and it is helpful to have a book that helps the family gain insight into the changes they see in mom who is expecting.

Finally, this book is a great read, filled with wonderful stories. Amy is also a coach so she provides many helpful tips on making the journey from conception to birth much easier. If you have anyone in your family or circle of friends who is expecting, send them a copy of this book. They will thank you for it.

Just like there is no "right way" to be a parent there is no "right way" to tackle pregnancy. Amy shares this concept with stories from over 100 pregnant women and her book is so relatable that you'll quickly smile and realize you're not alone in your thought process. You'll come away from reading her book with simple tools to ease into pregnancy and begin your journey into being a confident mommy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for any expecting mother!!! January 22, 2014
Format:Paperback
Amy Riley in Loving the Pregnant You does a particularly great job of sharing the perspectives of different mothers as they prepare for and go through their birthing experiences. The idea of being well informed and making sound choices is clearly illustrated, and also Riley writes: ‘…sometimes you need to keep your eye on the bigger picture and be prepared to go with the flow.’ Riley strikes the right balance with her advice. Additionally, I love how the author included ‘Check In’ points in the book to give each reader specifics to think about to help her make her birth experience a positive one. I recommend this book to all of my HypnoBirthing and birth doula clients.-Robin Ross, CD (DONA); CHBE

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a Coach Wrote a Book on Pregnancy January 21, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Loving the Pregnant You is an empowering guidebook that helps pregnant women feel as thought they are actually doing things right for a change! While I wish I would have had it during my first two pregnancies, this book came to me at an important time, when I was making the choice to pursue having a third child. This was not a popular idea within some of my support circles, leading me to feel a lot of judgement and shame. Amy Rley's clear thesis on trusting your own judgment and tuning into your deepest desires - setting fear aside to really explore what "want" for once - is an empowering message for every woman. I feel so grateful that she has been able to deliver that message to women facing pregnancy, which on so many levels can be one of the (or perhaps is "the") most vulnerable experiences a person can face. I've already bought copies for my friends and will continue to do so.
