For anyone who likes poetry, especially the poetry of Helen Steiner Rice, this book is a gem. The selections she chose for this book cover many topics, such as friendship, grieving, love, over- coming trials, faith, endurance, etc. It especially brought comfort to me after the passing of my dear mother-in-law who was one of my best friends. I also liked the fact that scriptural verses (from the King James version of the Bible) were intermingled with the poetry. When I am feeling a little blue, this book always helps to cheer me up.

This book brings much confort when you are looking for reasons for the many hurts present in today's world. The answer is "Jesus" but too many times we look for other answers when the only true one is our Lord. This book shows this in every page.

I am sending this book to a family who lost a daughter and a granddaughter on the United Plane that hit the World Trade Center.

I have really tried to find words to express my heart-felt hurt for this family but this book says it all.

First, just let me say, God is Awesome! I had no idea who this woman was, Helen S.R. I was making out a Christmas list and my Grandma, who I usually don't talk to or see very often given her "ways", was added to list. I wanted to send her something a little more blunt, "Healing for a Bitter Heart". LOL! But after asking my Aunt-in-law, who is the most spiritual person I know and really helps with these type things, she suggested I take a more subtler approach by giving her some loving poems about how God feels about her. After much thought, I felt this was the way to go but I didn't know where to find something like that. So I asked and she suggested Helen S.R. So I went on here to Amazon and looked up her books and I came across this one. I decided this will be the one I get for my Grandma for Christmas. I finally got to take it to her just the other day and when she opened it, much to my surprise, she knew who Helen S.R. was! Apparently, she gets Birthday and Christmas cards with her poems in them. Now she has a whole book of poems by her and my Grandma just loves it! So, thanks to the woman of God who suggested this writer, my Grandma is very much happy with me right now. LOL! I just continue to pray that God will work in her heart mightily through this book and I thank Amazon for the resources to be able to find such a book. Thanks.
