One of my favorites,

I have an old reel to reel of A. Paul Ortega and thought I would see what he could do with Joanne Shenandoah. My goodness, but they are good together! I first learned the "Indian Love Song" as a generic trail song -- but who says that music can't grow and change and mutate? -- and this album is Country Western meets Native American -- but the results are much nicer in music than they were culturally. Just goes to show that all people face the same problems and come up with so many of the same answers. Not in the notes, it should be mentioned that "Song of 49" is a Veterans Song -- so that when you hear the code words "After the 49" you have a clue what the context is. I understand why a person can go through 3 copies of this CD. I concur that "To Those Who Dream' should be on the preview. I wouldn't call this real 'fun' music, I find it rather emotionally intense. And I can't stop listening to it.

this is a "good fun" kind of cd of two great performers ... listen to the words...they border on great country western kinda stories from a Native American angle ... we are all related in more ways than one."to those that dream" should be on the preview listen. I'm on my thirdcopy of this cd... they can be worn out!

EXCELLENT...If you have a loving playful romantic spirit and enjoy upbeat music, this CD is for you. I bought the cassette version many years ago, when I met Joanne Shenandoah at one of her Foxwoods Resort concerts. Since then I nearly wore out the cassette and have purchased the CD. Paul and Joanne are great together on their duets.

This is a wonderful CD and provides great insight to Native American music and culture. I really liked the acoustic guitar, the duets and the lyrics. It is well worth listening to. Buy this CD if you are interesting in listening to and learning more about the Native American culture through song. Wonderful rhythms and beats to the music as well.

Joanne Shenandoah's haunting vocals mixed with poetic lyrics make for a wonderful listening experience! Mr. Ortega adds a whimsical sound in some songs, and together they are marvelous! If you would like to support Native American Music, and be educated and soothed while listening, then I highly recommend this production! Thanks, Joanne and Paul!
