This review is from: Loving Your Marriage Enough to Protect It (Paperback)
Whether you are married or single, Jerry Jenkins has written a book that is easy to read, yet profoundly thought-provoking. As a recently married man who wishes to uphold his marriage in the highest priority (next to God of course), this book has caused me to re-evaluate every situation I may find myself in with a member of the opposite sex. My wife and I truly appreciate the wisdom and insights that were shared in this book.

My husband and I read much of this book before we were even married. It strengthened our dating relationship immensely and therefore strengthened our marriage. This book helps you realize that the seemingly insignificant things you do can be potentially dangerous to your marriage if you are not careful. By examples it shows how it can be very easy to find yourself drifting away from your spouse while being drawn to someone else that seems to meet your needs better than your spouse does. This book helps you see the error of this way of thinking and gives you valuable suggestions to protect your marriage. This book used to be called Hedges and that is still what we call it because that is the perfect image to have of your marriage! Protect your marriage and it will last forever... be aware of the potential pitfalls and the chances of falling into them are slim! Buy this book TODAY! It is invaluable!!!!

Great book for men and women in marriage/premarriage,
This review is from: Loving Your Marriage Enough to Protect It (Paperback)
My wife and I do premarital and marriage counseling and we require all our couples to read this book. We have found it personally and professionally a great help for couples to realize the dangers we face in our society today. It has great guidelines for steps people can take that will help them protect themselves from falling to temptations they will face in today's world. Please, read this book and pass it on. I would recomment it for your children (adult) also.

How and Why to Protect Your Marriage,
By
This review is from: Loving Your Marriage Enough to Protect It (Paperback)
In ASIN:080244086X Loving Your Marriage Enough to Protect It]], Jerry B. Jenkins, who is a novelist, biographer, Christian husband and father talks about planting and maintaining hedges. I definitely think many people would get a lot from this book. I learned quite a bit about things from the male perspective regarding the importance of "planting hedges" as he refers to it as a way of protecting your marriage.
Though he of course talks about how to plant hedges to stay far away from pornography and prostitution, most of what he writes about are the guidelines and hedges he's found most helpful and necessary in male/female relationships between friends, co-workers, persons in ministry, etc., when either one person or both are married. He uses real life examples as well as Scriptural evidence for the points he makes and the suggested guidelines he gives. Some scenarios he's taken from Christian counseling he and his wife have done for other friends and couples. Whenever praying about things before, I got that if God is first and my husband comes before everyone and everything other than God, then all will be well. I'd been praying and asking for more specifics about healthy boundaries in my relationships. I prefer to know the rules and guidelines so I'm at least a little less likely to screw up, upset people, and get hurt myself. This book included some concrete guidelines for male/female relationships outside of marriage along with in-depth explanations of why they're important. Loving Your Marriage Enough to Protect It is a wonderful, Scripture-based guide that married couples, ministers of any kind, and those who are single but have friends who are married can certainly benefit from reading.

This book was not what I was expected. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed. It focused mainly on how to keep your focus away from infidelity. I thought it would be more about strengthening your marriage...

I Hadn't Thought About It,

This book showed me that I need to keep some kind of borders around my marriage. I wish I had done that in my first marriage, which ended after only two years. After being single a while I am now in a second marriage. It's been very difficult to blend with my second wife's children, from her first marriage. This book is showing me how to protect this marriage so that this one can last forever. I really believe this is possible; both of us are working hard to make it last forever.

A wonderful gift!,
This review is from: Loving Your Marriage Enough to Protect It (Paperback)
Ever since I purchased the book, I have been more aware of the little things I do to make or break my marriage. I have been impressed by the solid advice Jerry B Jenkins gives to couples to prevent problems BEFORE they become out of control. I now purchase it for ALL newly married couples as a gift for a strong and healthy marriage, our current culture accepts marital infidelity too easily. Here are some good ways not to fall into that trap.
