This review is from: Low Back Pain: Mechanism, Diagnosis and Treatment (Hardcover)
Very useful clinical information, which deeply covers the subject of disc injury and low back pain. My copy is an older edition, but I would hate to be without it. Anyone treating or trying to understand low back pain needs this one on their shelf

I have an older edition 1985 and wouldnt part with it.Only seeking newer research data in the newest edition.Dr.Cox has been my mentor for almost 35 years now using his flexion distraction method for disc herniation management.I know of no other conservative method bar none that works so well in my practice and that of others I know.(also tropism-facet lesions,spondylos-mild instability)
If 4 weeks of Cox therapy protocol one doesnt bring over 50%relief of discopathy send to the neurosurgeon. Its that sure.It either fixes multiple disc hernias or surgery is needed,no middle ground.(This of course includes if there s progress-rehab exercises-work hardening).Best volume on the subject for any professional.(Check out same text for cervical problems)RFunk,DC.

I bought this book for information on the causes and treatment of back pain. It was written by a Chiropractor for his students. It is written in a way that the average person would find it interesting. It is techincally but not to the point of being boring.

5.0 out of 5 stars The revelation, May 24, 2000
I first dicovered this book while I was going to school to become a Chiropractor. It was "love at first sight"! The content of this book is very explicit and talks about all possibilities that a low back pain can be. I recommend this book over and over to whoever wants to learn more about low back conditions. I am also using this book for a research that I am conducting. This is to show how much I trust it!
