5.0 out of 5 stars It's so funny with GREAT recipes!
I have this cookbook, and I gave out several copies as Christmas gifts last season. What's so different about this low carb cookbook? The humor, the fun and warm style, the fact that it is as entertaining to sit and read as it is to actually use the recipes.

I haven't enjoyed a cookbook this much in many years. And since I've been on a low carb plan for a few years...

This book received such high reviews that I purchased both of the holiday books without hesitation. Now I am wondering what happened? The recipes in both books are virtually the same--why buy both? There are no calorie counts, which would have been so helpful to those of us who watch both carbs and calories. Then, in typical Atkins fashion, many of the recipes are so high...

I haven't enjoyed a cookbook this much in many years. And since I've been on a low carb plan for a few years now, this has become my favorite lc cookbook. There are some cool old traditional salad and dessert recipes that are low carbed and sugar free. (I love the Pineapple Upside-Down French Toast Casserole). I can't recommend this fun and entertaining cookbook enough! I will be first in line to buy Jan's next book!

This book received such high reviews that I purchased both of the holiday books without hesitation. Now I am wondering what happened? The recipes in both books are virtually the same--why buy both? There are no calorie counts, which would have been so helpful to those of us who watch both carbs and calories. Then, in typical Atkins fashion, many of the recipes are so high in fat also, even when it didn't seem necessary. I know it's the holidays and all, but perhaps we might want to at least maintain our weight at this time of year, not gain it! The book chapters were also different--not your typical meats, desserts, salads, etc., but highly specialized. I didn't need a whole chapter on Mexican foods or sauces.
Obviously, I was very disappointed. There are many other fine low carb cookbooks out there but, in my opinion, this is not one of them.
