Love the recipes and the gourmet touch of using fresh herbs and spices. They make all the difference when cooking low carb.

Not very impressed. Nearly everything is loaded with soy products which are shown to cause problems with the body's ability to manufacture it's necessary hormones. I sold it at the neighborhood garage sale.

Just bought this for my iPad. Waste of money - no page numbers, so it's difficult to find specific recipes. Headings are undistinguishable from previous recipe, text just runs continuously. Very disappointed, although the content seems interesting.

Pretty Good Source,

This book is a good source of information, but some of the recipes aren't so realistic. Either way, the recipes I have made from it have been great!

Delicious recipes, but the net carb count needs work.,

This book has some delicious recipes, yes. However, it makes mistakes in its net carb count. I don't know why but almost every low carb cookbook and/or recipe (in a book) that I read does not properly count the 24g per cup of Splenda and fiber. So you have to count it yourself.
I own about 7-8 low carb cookbooks and I think I will stop there :) From now on I am using the Internet, and I recommend you do the same. Why buy a book when you have to do the net carb count yourself? If you need a place on the Internet to start, here it is: [...] And I think this is the exact link that I have been using: [...] Many of the recipes already have the correct count, but even if they don't, THEY'RE FREE!! |
