From the Publisher

This "low power communications library" presents the hows and whys of low power operating - that unique form of amateur radio known as QRP - from a well-known QRP'er with over 25 years of experience. Vol. 1 gives you a terrific, non-technical look at the world of QRP operating. Although written for the ham interested in taking up the QRP challenge, it's been an equally big hit with experienced QRP'ers, who have found it filled with useful information. Arland covers QRP history, getting started, propagation, contesting, digital QRP, using computers, developing the right mind-set, antennas, basic operating skills, milli-watting, using solar power and more.

Vol. 2 gives you the low down on how the experts do it. Each chapter is by a top QRP name: AA2U on DXing; N4BP on contesting; WB9TBU on DXpeditions; QRP via satellite by KA3QKI; WA6YPE and K7IRK on milli- and micro-watting; (communicating over hundreds of miles running just microwatts!) K5VOL on Field Day; W4THU on antennas and WB8VGE on using solar power. Great stuff!

In Vol. 3 Arland looks at QRP and related gear: new and used commercial transceivers, transceiver kits, accessories, and how to buy used equipment. One chapter covers what Rich says could have been titled "The Three Stooges Put Up an Antenna," in which erecting a 50 foot tower to support a TH7DX antenna became a 14 month-long lesson in how not to do it!
