Nice, small focuable light, great for highlighting or background accents. Don't forget to buy the barn doors and a filter holder as well as a couple of lamps.

Great lights at a Great Price,
This review is from: Lowel Pro-light, Focusing Multi-voltage Quartz Light, 12v, 30v, 120v; 50-250w (Electronics)
I also used these lights extensively while working in news and always carried 3 with me and often borrowed a 4th for certain interviews etc. The ability to change the focus distance of the lights is great, they are light weight and easy to leave attached to light stands for quick set up. Even while attached to the light stands they don't add alot to the stowed size. The only thing I wish was that Lowel made a small soft box attachment for them. However with a filter tray and some Roscolux spun glass diffusion these lights are just as good. If you're smart and creative and steal ideas from other photogs there's almost nothing you can't do with these little lights. Key, fill, hair, background, they really do a great job and at under $150-$200 I challenge you to find a more versatile light for the price. If anyone has any question on these lights or on videography or lighting feel free to comment and email.

This is a solidly-made piece of equipment that offers a lot-o-light for a comparatively small amount of money. We sought it out after talking with a veteran TV news photographer as to what he relies on and he said this is it. He's right -- it's a workhorse that shows care in manufacturing and/or design: It even has attached Velcro ribbons to hold the two-section cords together for storage. Like all quartz AC lamps, it runs hot. We pack an Ove Glove to avoid burns when striking the equipment.

These things are work horses!! I used these when I was shooting news. Always carried at least 2 with me and at least 3 spare bulbs. Great for interview keys, fills, backlights and utility. The only downside is, like any other light like this, they get HOT!, so be careful handling them after they've been on for a while. You won't find a better compact light to fit your needs.
