4.0 out of 5 stars excellently designed case, if a little small, December 22, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Lowepro D-Res 25 AW Digital Camera Bag (Electronics)
The Lowepro D-Res cases are really wonderfully designed, but be very clear in your expectations: because they're so well-padded, they may look like they hold a little more than they do.

The D-Res 25 AW I bought for my Coolpix 950 fits it like a glove, but for me that's exactly the problem. It'll fit the camera, but the camera's neck strap could only be stuffed in in a manner that was both inconvenient and potentially harmful to the camera. It will hold a spare set of batteries, but an extra filter or two were out of the question (not safely, anyway), as is the tiny tripod (about the size of 3 ballpoint pens side-by-side) I like to have with me.

I mention this in part because Lowepro's camera matrix...recommends the 25AW for the slightly longer Coolpix 990. While this may be accurate, it might not be practical for all consumers (for reasons such as those given above). Still, the matrix is a good place to start, and full dimensions for each bag can be found elsewhere on the manufacturer's site.

For myself, I will be exchanging the 25AW in favor of the 30AW, which adds some width for accessories. Once you've found the right size for your purposes, these cases are an excellent choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits like a glove, and that's the best way, September 8, 2002

This review is from: Lowepro D-Res 25 AW Digital Camera Bag (Electronics)
I just bought this bag for the Canon Powershot G2 ...
Though another reviewer made an excellent point in saying that apart from batteries and 1 or 2 extra memory cards it won't fit much accesories, the main reason I bought this bag is for optimal protection of the camera itself, and only secondly for transportation...Other points:
the opening is nice and large, though not in a way that the camera might fall out...With this design I think it will be easy to get the camera out when you need to.

The material looks and feels excellent. The inside material is very soft and padded for excellent protection of the camera.

One of the crucial things to me to choose this bag is the All Weather Cover. A 'jacket' that is nicely tucked away in the bottom-back of the camera, that you can pull out and nicely fits around the front and sides of the bag. It may seem a little tight (it has an elastic part on the top) but think about it: the looser it'll fit, the less weather protection it will offer.

A very nice bag for a very reasonable price...

Great little camera bag for the Pentax EI-200 & HP-618i. Had a tough time finding a camera bag that met my needs, and the Lowepro website does a fantastic job of providing a list of compatible cameras for each bag. Check it out!
