3.0 out of 5 stars Expensive comparing with other products.
I bought it for my canon G5, it is good, simple, but much expensive comparing with other similiar products (e.g. samsonite). The AW cover is not very useful.

4.0 out of 5 stars A+ Functional Digital Camera Bag, October 7, 2000

Super bag for carrying a digital camera! It has a great soft lining on the inside to keep the precious lcd screen from scratching. It has a very durable outer material, and two zippers that are reasonably easy to pull. The bag has an ajustable velcro divider for the back or bigger pocket (that is the width of the bag). In the front portion of the bag are two laminated mesh pockets. Each pocket is the perfect width for 4 AA batteries. This is very useful for keeping a couple spare sets on hand. In the back pocket, I use the divider to keep my camera seperate from my other materials. When I bought this bag, I also bought the Lowepro memory wallet, which has two laminated pockets perfect for smartmedia or compactflash, and one mesh pocket that is again perfect for 4 AA batteries. I stick the memory wallet in the other half of the back pocket. This lets me take the bag with me, but keeps my memory tucked away and safe, and also if I leave my bag somewhere, and I need to keep extra stuff in a pocket, I just take the wallet with me. This keeps a fresh pair of batteries and extra memory with me at all times. You could also keep a battery charger in the back pocket if you don't have a memory wallet. But this bag if you have a semi-compact digital cam! This was one of the most important accesories that I bought for my cam. Also, with this bag comes a removeable shoulder strap. It even has it's own all weather hood to keep the bag dry! It pulls out from the bottom of the back of the bag and is safely velcro'd in until you pull it out. Great feature and keep up the good work lowepro!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good solid mid-size Digicam bag!, September 23, 2001

Great mid-size camera bag for those with a few accessories and a small-medium size digital camers.

Tricot lining is super soft and made especially to be gentle on the lcd. Does a great job of not scratching it.

Velcro divider in the center. This lets you change the back compartment to how you like it. It also lets you get your camera very snug so it won't rattle around in there. Divide it any way you like.

Front two laminated plastic pockets. Both are about the width of 4 aa batteries. You can either keep memory cards in here or if you camera runs on aa batteries it's great for keeping a spare set or two! (Great for olympus cams that run on aa's!)

Weather-hood - It's great for those drizzly football games and rainy days. Good to protect your expensive equipment.

Overall great bag. If you need more room for accessories I suggest the D-res 50AW. I fit my Ipaq pocket pc, ipaq stowaway keyboard, ipaq modem, modem retractable cord, Lowepro D-res 4 memory wallet, Olympus D-510 digicam, my AA/AAA fast battery charger and it's ac adapter all in the bag.

Lowepro makes great bags!

4.0 out of 5 stars Those little things add up to one great bag, January 2, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Lowepro D-Res 30 AW Digital Camera Bag (Electronics)
I just received this Lowepro bag today for my Canon Powershot camera and it is much better than I expected. The compartments are very handy and not oversized; just enough to carry an extra memory card and/or battery. There is some padding and a soft fleece lining. The velcro divider in the bag is removable or can be positioned along the width of the camera. But one of the best features seems to be the hidden nylon weather hood, which pulls out from the back bottom edge of the bag and covers the case. I usually carry a plastic bag along just in case of downpours, which have soaked through my packs, to keep cameras and equipment dry. Hopefully, this weather hood will do the trick. I would highly recommend this well-designed Lowepro bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Case!, January 6, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Lowepro D-Res 30 AW Digital Camera Bag (Electronics)
This is a suberb case for the price. Complete with an allweather cover for "rought situations" this case is ideal for a digital camera or a regular camera. I currently have a Nikon Coolpix 800 digital camera and it fits perfectly. The case is a great size because it is not to small where it can't hold anything and not to big where it is a nusiance to lag around. Another good thing is the ability for the case to attatch to a belt. The soft inside of the case offers superb protection with the gentleness not to damage the camera's LCD. It also has two laminated pockets which are perfect for holding extra memory cards. The divider is great for creating a perfectly sized spot for your camera seperates/and allows access to the extra space to store all the accessories for your camera. My personal favorite feature is that the case is zippered to prevent anyone from stealing you camera. A beautifully crafted camera case at a terrific price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great digital camera bag, November 4, 2000

I purchased this last week and got it a few days ago. This is a great digital camera bag. I did extensive research before committing and I must say it paid off. The bag has a nice divider which I used to seperate my cables from my camera. It also is lined with a soft fabric so your LCD screen is not scratched. I must say that if you stuff the main compartmen, the front compartments are basially rendered useless. The front area has two laminated compartments for smartmedia or compactflash cards. They are basically the only two things that will fit since the camera in the main compartment makes it a very tight fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars What about the Rain Jacket, October 5, 2000

...this case actually has a hidden rain jacket to protect your electronic equipment (worth probably hundreds if not thousands of dollard) from the elements. The inside material is also designed not to scratch LCD displays and it's quite a rugged case for such a little bag. Oh and did I forget to mention that it has a belt loop on the back so you can wear it around your waist and that the hardware is metal instead of plastic. A bag that's really designed to last. Great for digital still cameras and a few accessores like cards and a small battery charger or axillary lens. Highly recomended for digital cameras.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the right-sized camera, November 17, 2004

This is versatile pouch for a small to medium-size digital still or compact video camera - plus (depending on the size of the camera) room for extra memory, batteries and accessories. An adjustable divider and lots of pockets keep equipment well-organized. (Perfect for my Panasonic Lumix FZ1, while the rest of the stuff stays home on a day trip.)
All Weather Cover: Built-in cover that protects your gear from dust, rain or snow.
Adjustable Divider: Customizes the interior for a variety of needs.
Brushed Tricot Lining: Soft material that won't scratch LCD viewing screens.
Laminated Mesh Pocket: Holds memory cards or Mini-DV tapes.
Removable Shoulder Strap: Adjustable for length.

So, will your camera fit this case? Here are the dimensions I dug up:
D-RES 30AW Specifications
Inner dimensions
6W x 2.5D x 6H in. (15 x 6.5 x 15 cm)
Exterior dimensions
7W x 3.5D x 6.75H in. (18 x 9 x 17 cm)
Weight
7 oz (198 g)
Materials
All Weather Cover, special brushed-tricot lining that's ultra gentle to LCD screens.
Outer fabric:
Water-resistant 420D nylon/TXP™ crossweave and 1200D ballistic TXP

You can expect this case to be durable on the outside and gentle to your camera on the inside. Well worth the money to protect your investment.

I've kept my Canon Powershot G2, Speedlite 420EX, extra set of 4 AA's for the Speedlite, and a couple of extra CF cards in this bag for about a year now. Works great ... although there are times when I'd also like to put more accessories in it (charger, lens cleaner, etc) and there isn't enough room, so I may be moving up to a larger Lowepro or Tamrac bag soon. The bag is nicely padded and soft (the "non-scratch" lining is important for digicams with unprotected LCD screens, but isn't an issue for a G2).

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lowepro D-Res 30 AW Digital Camera Bag (Electronics)
I bought this bag to carry my Cannon Powershot A70 digital camera. I wanted a bag that would fit the camera, along with some accessories. I fit the camera snuggly to one side with help from the moveable divider, and the connection cables in the other side. There is lots of extra room for batteries and memory cards too. I was origionally looking for something smaller, but everything wouldn't fit in smaller bags. This turned out to be the perfect solution for me. Enough room for my stuff, with out being too large! Highly recomended!

I wanted to buy something for my Canon PowerShot G3 and I found it. Maybe the bag is a little bit small, but it's not that bad. It can contain the camera itself, 2-3 CompactFlash cards and spare batteries. I don't think you can find a better bag for the price.
