Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack Camera Case, April 5, 2009
This review is from: Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack Digital SLR Camera Case (Red) + Tripod + Accessory Kit for Canon Rebel T3, T3i, T1i, T2i, EOS 60D, 5D, 7D, Nikon D3000, D3100, D5000, D5100, D7000, D300s, Olympus Evolt E-5, E-30, E-620 & Sony Alpha A560, A580, A33, A35, A55 (Electronics)
I love this camera backpack. It was perfect for a long travel trip where I needed protection for my camera but also plenty of extra room to carry other travel supplies . The side opening gave me easy access to my camera so I could be spontaneous during the trip without having to keep digging in & out of the pack. Though, I felt it was a little big for day hikes, I would have preferred something smaller; it worked perfect as my carry on luggage. I was not traveling with a computer, but I found the added computer space great to put folders and books. The buckles on the lower half make an easy place to roll & cinch a light jacket. I would call this an ideal 'Travel Pack'.

Bag is good, but the stand is not that great, March 17, 2010

The bag is really convenient. Lots of room. The camera (a Nikon D80) fits in with room for a separate flash. I'm also able to fit in a small digital video camera. The laptop compartment is great. It isn't the most comfortable fit in terms of a pack for long walks, but it works well. My only beef is with the tripod that comes with the kit. It is not very good. The bracket that comes with it to mount to the bottom of the camera is cheap and does not stay firmly fixed in position. If you put any pressure on the camera at all once it is on the tripod, it will come loose from this bracket and you have to detach it from the tripod, re-tighten the screw on the mounting bracket, and then re-setup your shot. This becomes annoying really quickly. In my case, I mainly was interested in the bag, and found that this kit was the same price as the bag alone but came with a free tripod. Well, I found out why the tripod was free. You may be better off saving yourself the aggravation and just buying the bag along and a better tripod separately. I'll be looking for a better one myself soon... Oh, and I'm not a hardcore photographer, just a guy who takes enough pictures to not want to have to constantly fiddle with his tripod every time he uses it. So if you care enough to want a tripod as well, this will probably annoy you too.
