Lowepro G-Res 10 Camera Pouch,

This review is from: Lowepro G-Res 10 Camera Pouch for Canon G10 and Canon G11 (Black) (Electronics)
We previously purchased a Lowepro case for our Canon A710 IS and are extemely happy with it -- small, lightweight, easy on/off with a combination velcro/snap attachment, and has a small accessory pocket for spare batteries and/or SD card. We were hoping the G-Res pouch would be as good, but we're somewhat disappointed. It's small and lightweight, and instead of the zipper on the A710 IS case (which usually requires two hands to open), the G-Res has a typical quick "buckle" that can be released with one hand. But, there is NO accessory pocket for anything, and the camera JUST fits inside. When the camera's shoulder strap is attached to the camera, there's NO room for the strap inside the case (you have to fold it up and sorta place it between the camera and the pouch's top flap). When we add a typical quick-release tripod mount to the bottom of the camera, then it barely fits into the case at all, even though it's fabric and gives a little -- very, very tight fit. Instead of the combination velcro/snap attachment on the A710 IS case, the G-Res has only a velcro attachment. When placed on the hip-belt of a day pack or backpack, the velcro tends to catch on whatever fabric is around, like my really nice hiking shirt :-(
Overall it's a "decent" case, but I think Lowepro could have done a better job in the design (adding an accessory pocket, allowing a little more room to accommodate the camera's strap and/or a quick-release tripod mount, and a more versatile attachment system)

Great Belt Case For Canon G11,

This review is from: Lowepro G-Res 10 Camera Pouch for Canon G10 and Canon G11 (Black) (Electronics)
I did my research PRIOR to purchasing the G-Res 10 camera pouch. Was looking for a compact belt pouch without any bulk to house my Canon G11. This pouch is exactly that and works perfectly. I use a small Op/Tech hand strap on the G11 and prefer to let the strap rest outside the top of the G-Res case even though I could carefully fit it inside. The G11 is a snug fit while in the G-Res and the camera is perfectly protected. The velcro strap used to attach to your belt is sturdy and secure. This review is about using the G-Res 10 pouch with a Canon G11 camera so your mileage may vary.
Again, the G11 is a compact camera and I wanted a case that was compact. When one or more extra storage pockets are included on these compact cases they really are no longer all that compact. So folks, if your looking for a belt pouch to accommodate extra memory cards, tripod attachments, batteries, kitchen sinks...then buy the appropriate case for your needs. As far as a compact, well built and snug fit for a Canon G11 I can recommend this case. For other compact cameras...think about what you want to carry in it, measure (take into consideration the camera strap) and purchase a case that matches your requirements.

camera pouch protection,

I bought this carrier only to protect the camera when in my purse and for hiking. It works well in the purse or back pack because it isn't bulky. What I don't like about the pouch is that the camera goes in vertically not horizontally, thus the straps of the camera don't hang well when you wear it outside. The latch is to cumbersome to get undone when wearing gloves in cold weather. It would be better to have velcro on the front opening.

Disappointed,

The pouch is just big enough to accommodate the camera... its a tight squeeze.
Once I attached the neck strap to the camera, I found that there wasn't enough room to stuff the strap into the pouch, so I have to let it all hang out :)... disappointed with the lack of foresight while designing the pouch.

Exactly What I Wanted It To Be,

This bag is perfect for my needs. I bought the G10 camera so I wouldn't have to lug my pro film and digital SLRs and all their lenses and other accessories around all the time. With the G10 I still have a camera with me that will take great pictures. All I wanted in a bag was the quality and durability of the LowePro brand and a compact size. I can put this bag on my belt and go. It has a single, hand release which means easy in and out. The camera fits snugly and yes there is not room for anything else. I shoot raw format and have an SD card large enough so that I don't need to carry extras. if I needed to there is room to drop a spare or two in the bottom of the bag. The battery makes it through a day of pictures and review so I don't need a spare. If I need to carry anything else like telephoto or spare battery, then I can use one of my two other LowePro bags.

Lowepro G-Res 10 Camera Pouch,

This pouch would be a great protector for your camera. It's constructed of stiff, thick almost non-crushable material. I'd use it if I were expecting it to be tossed, dropped, and kicked into the next county. However, its stiffness and boxy form make it very bulky, far more so than the camera (Canon PowerShot G10) I hoped it would carry. I'd like something more pliable that I can slip on my belt that doesn't stick out like a small brick. In addition, there are no pouches for batteries or memory cards; its camera only. That means anything else has to be carried separately. Protection? Very good. Ease of use? Less than satisfactory.

Does the job,
This review is from: Lowepro G-Res 10 Camera Pouch for Canon G10 and Canon G11 (Black) (Electronics)
Fits the Canon G10 perfectly, is lightweight and has a low profile. It does not have as much padding as other cases but the G10 is a very sturdy camera and does not need all that much protection. I primarily use the case when packing my camera in a travel bag with other things. You also don't need to use the strap that comes with the case since the camera already has a strap. Also, if you are looking to replace the rather cheap camera strap that comes with the G10, I highly recommend the Domke Gripper Camera Strap. It works great for this size camera.

This bag is a perfect fit for the Canon Powershot G10 (which is itself a great camera). The disappointment I had with this product was that it is just what it says and nothing more, a pouch for the camera. There is no additional storage for a spare battery or even a backup flash card. The pouch itself is excellent, well made, with good materials and exemplifies the quality I've come to expect from Lowepro. It wouldn't have killed them to put in an extra pocket to hold that battery and flash card, Lowepro should know better.

I bought this pouch for my Olympus 35RC (film) camera. It just barely fits with a UV filter on it and no lens cap. Yep you can't carry really anything but the camera but that's okay, put film in your pocket and call it a day. It's secure on a belt. You'll look like a tool walking around with this pouch because there's a black brick around your waist. Still better than wearing a fanny pack though... I usually use it when I ride my bike and shoot. It's better and faster than putting the camera in your pocket.

I wanted the most simple case I could get, and this was it. No extra pockets, just one for the camera. I don't even use the strap it came with, I just leave the strap that is attached to the camera outside of the bag so I can carry it along. I got exactly what I wanted with this case.
