5.0 out of 5 stars Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 AW II
Have owned this for more than a year and it is well suited for my 6' 185 lb frame - carries my Minolta 600 f/4 attached to my Sony A700 very well. There are LOTS of adjustments and though it takes a little time to fine tune it, once you get the adjustments done, this thing is like a fine leather glove, it fits and wears well. There is a good YouTube video to help setting...

2.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Product for the price
Good luck getting your lens in the bag, much less with the hood and body mounted on it. Even if you do, the bag is pretty poorly designed, and the hip straps hardly take up any worthwhile weight. I guess if you simply need to transport your lens from A to B over a couple hundred yards, this bag isn't terrible. Your main problem is that as poor as this bag is, there are...

2.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Product for the price, November 6, 2011
Good luck getting your lens in the bag, much less with the hood and body mounted on it. Even if you do, the bag is pretty poorly designed, and the hip straps hardly take up any worthwhile weight. I guess if you simply need to transport your lens from A to B over a couple hundred yards, this bag isn't terrible. Your main problem is that as poor as this bag is, there are not many other options out there. I've adopted a standard hiking bag to fit my superteles, and it works a ton better for day trips where I cover miles and miles. Of course, this took some work on my part, so if you are stressed for time or only need a bag for short hikes, then this bag isn't bad. However, if you want to go more than a couple hundred yards and you want your lens (with hood and camera) readily accessible, this bag is not the solution for you.

Purchased this bag to carry my Canon 7D with a 600mm lens. Fits perfect. Well constructed product which has many adjustments. Expensive, but you're getting something nice for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great pack, September 3, 2011

Haven't tried it in the field, but it's a great pack to secure the 500mm f4 while transporting. Have been using an oversized duffle bag with towels for padding, so this is quite an improvement. I don't think it'd be good for a 600mm, my 500 barely fits with the 1.4x on it. I will have to take the hood off to ensure the camera, extender and lens fit into the pack. It appears it will work for me. I will have to do a follow up review after taking it out in the field. sgs

Overall a decent product but note that the padded portion of the waistbelt stops many (5") inches from my hip pointers on my 38" waist. Not so good for long hikes if you've loaded the bag up. Amazingly it's the only one on the market that I could find that takes my 500mm + extenders + pro body + a few odds and ends. I bet Think Tank could do better...but they haven't.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great construction and fit, July 16, 2011

The Lowepro Trekker 600 AWII is a great way to house my 400mm/2.8 nikkor with camera body attached when I'm on the move. My ONLY issue's are that the my extended lens hood is a little too large to fit inside the bottom extra padding insert, and I'd like to see the zippers run the entire length of the backpack to make extraction even easier. All around it's a great way to transport my equipment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bag!, April 19, 2011

Works perfect for my Canon 500 f4. Typical Lowepro quality and durability, most excellent. I also bought a couple lens case attachments to carry a wide angle and smaller telephoto if I'm hiking, these attach to the side of the bag. I usually use this bag for everyday transport, whether it's in the car or if I'm on foot. It will hold my 500mm w/teleconverter and body, with hood reversed on lens. I tried my 500mm in a Pro Trekker awII and found it was a big tight and not the greatest fit. This works much better.
