This is definitely a high end camera bag. Great quality construction, all sorts of features. Most of my various bags do not have this kind of high end quality (but they are also alot cheaper).

This bag is big. I don't have that much camera equipment so ultimately this bag is too big for my needs...but if I get the photography bug I am ready. If you do have tons of camera equipment and are looking for a high quality bag then this will fit your needs nicely.

This is second Lowepro case for us and, like the first (Lowepro Magnum DV 4000 AW Shoulder Bag (Black)) this one looks fantastic and exudes quality! We professionally produce videos for my wife's business and often have to move our cameras out of our studio to customer locations. The well designed case significantly simplifies the process of transporting my equipment and gives me piece of mind that everything will arrive in one piece.

This is a fairly large bag (longer, but slightly shorter than the DV 4000) that easily fits my big Canon GL2 (see customer pictures) and all of its associated accessories (charger, headphones, cables, tapes, etc). The inside pocket was just a little too short to fit my IBM T42 Laptop with the extended battery, but it fit fine with the standard battery. There are so many pockets that there is a place for everything I carry and then some!

The features I like the best are:
+ Well padded Walls and floor to protect the equipment
+ Adjustable padding makes customizing easy
+ High quality zippers are very smooth
+ Attached Rain Cover easily deploys over the bag
+ Shoulder strap is VERY comfortable and lives up to the hype
+ Hand cart straps allows for attaching to handle of luggage for easy transporting

This case is exactly what I was looking for in a professional video camera bag! It would be hard to go wrong with either case to protect and transport your equipment.

First of all, I am not a professional video/film/photo artist (I'm a metals artist, actually), but I do all of my own product photography and I have a bunch of consumer and "pro-sumer" equipment because I like gadgets, and I do have a background in film production and I like shooting...I also have trouble parting with equipment...

This bag is huge and heavy, even without equipment. As a person with spine damage and arthritis, I would have a hard time lugging this bag anywhere. I do wish it had wheels on one end, to make this easier. Especially considering how gigantic the bag is, and how much equipment it can hold, wheels would have been lovely. Of course, if need be I can strap this to a folding luggage cart and call it a day. Or have someone else carry it...

I love the versatility of this bag- the dividers are easily customizable to accommodate almost any equipment, or combination of equipment.

I do think, as someone who travels with a DSLR, a couple of lenses, a tripod, and a laptop that this bag for those few, smallish pieces would be overkill.

BUT this bag would still have room for a change of clothes, and other necessities. So for me, this would be a perfect weekend travel bag, as it's one piece to keep track of, has excellent protection, and a few extras that make it a winner.

There is a pouch included for cables/wires/memory cards, which is pretty handy. There is also a poncho built in to cover the bag in case of rain, to protect the equipment inside. I do have another Lowepro bag (an over the shoulder sling) with this feature and I have used it a few times during sudden downpours and it is an equipment saver.

I also like that this bag is fairly generic looking (don't get me wrong- it looks nice, but it looks like a regular big ballistic nylon duffel), so I wouldn't be as paranoid about having someone snatch this as I would with one of my more traditional metal cases that scream "AV equipment up for grabs!"....

As I am not using this as a pro, I will use this as a weekend bag, and also as our emergency bag- we live in hurricane land, and on occasion we have had to evacuate. I think that I could easily and safely transport multiple hard drives, a laptop, a mac mini, my camera equipment, and our essential paperwork/files, my kindle, our non-digital photo album, and my old mini-DV tapes (a couple of dozen of them) without overcrowding.

My only con, for this bag, is the weight (necessary, I think, considering the construction and equipment protection factor- some rigidity is necessary too)...
But other than that I absolutely adore it and hope to travel more so I can see how much more I can fit!

This bag is solidly constructed and will do a good job of protecting your expensive video camera. When you open the bag you will marvel at how easy it is to quickly access your camera through the dual zipper lid, which can be pretty important for a quick set up.

There is a weather cover that comes with the bag to make it water proof and you can put it in the side-pocket when not in use. The material of the bag also offers good protection from the elements. The rounded shape also makes sure there is less damage to the equipment. The molded base helps protect the bag itself from the metal on the pro cameras which can wear out the lining quickly. The strap is nicely constructed with good padding to distribute the weight evenly, as the bag with the equipment can get very heavy. There are some padded foam inserts in the bag that you can move around to conform to the shape of your video cam.

The notebook compartment inside the bag is handy and you don't need to carry it separately. There is enough room for some other accessories.

The bag has not been used extensively yet. However, it looks very durable I am expecting it to hold up well over time, the real test for any video equipment bag in this price range.

I have owned several Lowepro camera bags and the quality, design, and construction always amaze me. I use the Magnum DV 6500 for multiple cameras and lenses. While this bag is meant for video equipment, I prefer this size of bag for my digital SLR, lenses, and accessories. That sounds strange, but I prefer to keep all of my gear in one big storage bag. Then I use a smaller travel bag when I take trips. So the size of it does not bother me at all. But if you carrying video equipment, this bag could certainly handle the load. Lowepro bags can be rather expensive, but they deliver every time.

The bag comes with plenty of adjustable compartment dividers. You can configure this bag almost any way you can think of. The bottom is very solid and can take a beating, as well as provide great support to your equipment. You have several compartments to store your accessories. The handles are super strong and even though this is a large bag, it is easy to carry. The shoulder strap is very nice, one of the best I've seen. The laptop compartment will fit many laptop sizes, but not all. The extra pockets, attachment loops, smooth zippers, and the ability to rearrange and customize the interior of this bag is what make Lowepro bags so great.

This bag is large, and is a lot of bag for every day usage. So I will still use my smaller bags for the shoots that require those. But for sports and wildlife, this bag allows me to carry two bodies, with my two big white lenses, 70-200 and 300 2.8, mounted and ready to go. And that's why I got it. I can have my 300 2.8 mounted and ready to grab, but out of sight until needed. Very cool. Love the new strap design. It works as advertised, and forms equally to either shoulder. Nice design. Got this bag hoping my husband would like it for his video cameras. It fits the camera, and accessories, and then some. Excellent padding system, nothing gets knocked around. And it's still lightweight to carry!

I was so impressed with this bag that I traded my Pelican hard sided case for it. Not saying that the Pelican didn't do a great job -- it did. But it's heavy. The Magnum is light, tough and really well constructed. It's been thrown around over the past few months with no impact to its content. Want something that will protect your camera investment and is light and comfortable enough to be thrown over you shoulder? This is it.

The Lowepro Magnum DV6500 is a hefty and solidly-constructed bag. Weighing in at an even 7.0 pounds (as measured on my digital scale), it provides ample cushioning and protection for your video gear as well as numerous pockets and compartments for all sorts of cables, scripts, pens, batteries, adapters, and whatever else you may need to bring with you on your shoot. The padded cushions inside can be rearranged to fit any camera, with room to spare for tapes and other accessories. The bag is easy to handle and stow inside a trunk with other luggage. Its rigid rectangular shape makes it easy to stack and the abundance of handles means you can strap this to a luggage cart or other bags for easier carrying. A large zippered compartment on the front offers convenient and quick access to travel papers, maps, or other important documents. 2 additional pockets are available on the side, but these are more snug.

A separate zippered nylon pouch comes included inside the bag (not pictured in any of the product images). It is the size of a CD case and about twice as thick, with 4 Velcro pockets on the front, meant to hold USB sticks and SD cards.

One minor complaint is that my 15" MacBook Pro just barely fits inside. About a quarter of an inch more height to the bag and it would've zipped up cleanly without feeling crammed in. If you have anything bigger than that, it won't fit.

With its rigid construction, reinforced stitching, a waterproof cover, and thick padding, the DV6500 is an excellent choice for storing and transporting your video equipment in comfort and safety.

I got this bag for my Sony VX2100, and I'm glad I did! This bag is huge, holds my camera and all accessories, and I love how the interior compartment is able to be adjusted (velcro/zippers) to fit everything just how I want it to. Easily the most well-built bag I've ever seen, but this is my first Lowepro so maybe they're all like this. I'll be looking for a smaller bag for my DSLR, I'll definitely look at Lowepro.
