5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny
My best friend has this bag and on our trip across Europe I wanted it more each day. He uses a Nikon D80 and I have a Canon S3. We each have multiple extra lenses, batteries, filters, etc. After looking at every LowePro bag in various shops, the D100 was the perfect size as a shoulder bag and carry on for aviation. I accidentally bought this bag instead of the Sling Shot, which has great reviews. Unfortunately I live in Korea and bought the bag at Namdaemun market and it can't be returned...one of the problems of Korea. I assure you it is genuine, in case you wonder (it's always a good question for Asia!)

My problems are:

My best friend has this bag and on our trip across Europe I wanted it more each day. He uses a Nikon D80 and I have a Canon S3. We each have multiple extra lenses, batteries, filters, etc. After looking at every LowePro bag in various shops, the D100 was the perfect size as a shoulder bag and carry on for aviation. The compartments allow for 2 lenses and the third mounted on your camera body. As I don't carry an SLR, I leave a wide-angle mounted and use the extra lense spot to carry a AA battery charger and extra 4 batteries. The rain fly is easy to get on and made a heck of a difference while shooting the Tour de France in the Alpes. The bag is low-key and stealthy - not getting much attention from the wrong people on the Metro. Perfect bag and will never be seen traveling without it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits large DSLR and telephoto lens, November 30, 2010

I wanted to buy a camera bag that would fit my Nikon D300s with a 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens attached. My other requirement is that the bag's exterior dimensions were small enough to comply with the carry-in rules for sports venues in Madison, WI. For Wisconsin Badger football at Camp Randall Stadium, basketball at the Kohl Center, and volleyball at the Field House the maximum allowable exterior bag dimensions are 8.5 x 11 inches. (No third dimension is specified.) When entering those venues, the security staff are holding a laminated 8.5 x 11 inch card that lists the carry-in rules. They will hold the card up to your bag to ensure it complies with the size requirements.

The Lowepro Stealth Reporter D100 AW camera bag listing says its exterior dimensions are 11.2 x 7.7 x 8.5 inches. However, I believe this is incorrect. My own comparison with a letter-size piece of printer paper and my subsequent success taking this bag into sporting venues proves this to me. (Your experience may vary.)

Finally, the bag itself seems quite nice. The shoulder strap is very adjustable and well-padded. I took out the interior dividers (affixed with Velcro) in order to fit my DSLR body and long lens. If I could change one thing it would be to eliminate the zipper in the top of the bag and replace it with a permanently affixed carrying handle.

I bought this bag thinking it would be the last, and still ended up getting the slingshot 100 which has the most uncomfortable strap i have ever used.
Anyway this bag i assure you is exactly what you paid for, its, strong, well balanced, has a place for all kinds of stuff. holds my Pentax K10D with da* 16-50 attached, and 360 flash. sometimes i squeeze the da 50-200 zoom in with them.
The only negative i have found with this bag, is the top cover of the bag has no padding, not sure why lowepro left that out?
As for the top access zipper , it is not really for getting your camera with lens out, but if you need something like a filter or flash.

I bought this for my son who worked as a journalist intern this summer for a small town newspaper. He was taking a lot of his own photos and needed a camera bag that was something he could use for his slr camera but also like a briefcase. This bag was perfect. Most camera bags are either for the professional and over kill or too small
He loves this and it was a fantastic value!
Shipping cam quick too.

This is a great bag for a single DSLR, few lenses and accessories. It comes with a memory card storage case and accessories bag which come in handy. It also has a shoulder strap that can be removed if you choose to use the bag handle. The bag has 3 rearrangeable dividers to configure to your liking, however there are only selective areas the dividers will velcro to. So it's not 100% customizable. The "Quick Access" zipper on the top is too small to quickly grab your DSLR (with lens attached), you're better off opening it up to minimize mishandling. I like the styling. It's not loud in saying "This is a Camera Bag" like most professional bags do. It's well padded for the items contained. The only beef I have with the bag is that it's awkward storing a DSLR with lens attached. I have mine where lens is face down and the body over hangs other compartments in the bag that aren't full. For the Amazon price, it's working well. I found in local stores around me but with a $80 price tag!

My Canon Kiss X (Rebel XT) BARELY fits in the bag with a 4" lens on it and it's incredibly difficult to remove it through the "easy access" zipper on the top of the bag.

It's not comfortable to wear, and the slider which goes through the shoulder strap doesn't move easily.

My first time out shooting with it was just annoying and I think I'll end up using it just as a storage case and for travel.

I really want to like this bag, but it doesn't perform well for me!
