A classic, period,

This review is from: Lowepro Tropolis 1300 17" Notebook Backpack (Personal Computers)
I bought it from amazon for $59.99 for my HP Pavilion 9500 notebook (17''). This notebook fits nicely in it. The looks are simply amazing with a bit of leather in front which enhances the cosmetics of it. There is ample cushioning everywhere (sides, bottom, front, back). At the back where the backpack rests against your back, there is a lot of cushion. The shoulder strap has cushion so your shoulders are at ease while carrying it. This bag is not heavy at all if you think about the fact that it is meant to carry a 17'' laptop. You can carry other stuff such as few files, folders and maybe one or two not-so-heavy books. Front pocket can be used to carry stuff such as ipod, camera, cell phone, pens/markers, cigarettes, notebook lock etc. This is a sturdy, well constructed and classy looking bag with ample and relevant features. When I carried my laptop and mounted it on my shoulders, I could not feel the weight of my laptop (9.0 lbs including adapter). Go for it and you won't be disappointed. One of the best out there for a 17'' giant :-)

I use this bag in my daily 45 minute subway commute. The bag is not light, but not any heavier than other well padded bags. If you're worried about weight, you shouldn't be carrying around a 17" laptop.
I was looking for a bag with the following characteristics: 1) Small bag size - Don't want to hit people in the face while riding on the subway 2) Reasonable capacity - Need to carry my lunch and gym clothes 3) Good weight distribution - Used a messenger type bag before and it completed screwed up my shoulder and back 4) Professional style - Don't want to look like a grade schooler wearing a backpack On "1" and "3" I give five stars. On "2" and "4",I give four stars. I can fit my gym clothes but not my sneakers. And as far as the style, it looks professional but the little "stormtrooper"-ish.

I was a tad nervous that the pack would be too small, and almost made the mistake of going with a different style. I am glad I stuck to this model, and it was the previous customer review that swayed my decision in this direction. I have started comuting via bicyle to work, and all items including my Dell Inspiron 9300 fits into the pack with room to spare. It is quite comfortable and I very satisfied with the product.

B,
This review is from: Lowepro Tropolis 1300 17" Notebook Backpack (Personal Computers)
I was a little bit disappointed because its doesn't open all the way so that the bottom part lies flat on the ground as you slide your notebook in. When I tried to put my notebook in, I had to struggle with it because it doesn't lye flat nor stay horizontal by itself. So I got on hand on the backpack trying to prevent it from flopping over and having the open close and the other hand with my notebook which is sort of heavy. I tried carrying it and its kinda of bulky for me. Besides all this, its sturdy enough to protect whatever you got in it. Its priced well for this product.

I bought this backpack so I could carry my expensive laptop computer between work and home on my motorcycle. I did not think that strapping the laptop to the back of the bike was a good idea. This backpack fills the bill perfectly. It is pretty much the same size and shape as the original laptop case, except turned 90 degrees. My 17" HP fits snuggly so it doesn't shift around. It has many compartments for papers, disks, cellphone, etc. It is well-padded, easy to adjust and comfortable to wear. Even on the days I don't ride my bike, I use this instead of my trusty old briefcase. Although I haven't owned it long enough to see how it will hold up over time, it does seem to be well-made.

Bought this just in time for my weeklong trip to Asia. Makes taking the laptop out at the airport security a breeze. Enough cushioning around the laptop even if u drop it to the floor, u can feel safe. Lots of extra slots and space for all ur other gadgets.

Great Commuter/Student Bag... Not a Carry-All.,

Great notebook bag for the daily commuter or student. Fantastic assortment of pockets, but don't expect to fit much more than your laptop and a school book or two in the main compartment. I was slightly disappointed, as I bought this bag to serve as a carry-on for a trip overseas. I couldn't even fit a sweatshirt in the large compartment. I gave it four stars because it held up great, very well built, with no blatant design flaws. And it fits a surprising amount of small gadgets to accompany your notebook.

Love it!,

Very comfortable on my shoulders! Just what I need to bring my 17-inch Dell Inspiron notebook to and from school! The pockets in front come in handy for small head phones, web cam, flash drives, a digital camera and many other random items. I can even fit a large book in the back pocket where my computer is! I'd recommend this product to anyone that is tired of carrying their laptop/notebook in a brief case type of bag hurting one shoulder. Distributing the weight has saved me the pain and has helped free up my arms/hands to carry other things.

The bag was purchased form my HP DV7-1130us and is a very tight fit.
The main compartment of the case has a hard shell and a zipper that runs at an angle around the shell. Point of these two statements is, while it is very secure, you can't just toss it in the bag and run. It takes time to fit it into the snug area and time to unzip and zip up the bag with the odd angles the zipper travels. That said, with it's tailored look, it is a very nice looking bag and is very professional. With the exception of the place the laptop goes, there is tons of room inside and around the bag. Some of my criteria was to have a place to put my: coffee thermos, business cards, software, external HD, phone/pager, a place for my contracts, and a place to write, store pens and paper. this bag has it all. |
