This is a good book. The only difference between this one and previous editions is a small amount of information which directly applies to the current year the book is targeted toward. All the examples are the same as previous editions. One edition seems to have essentially the same info as another.

This book is easy to read, interesting, and helpful to anyone interested in starting a small business (most people should), or those already operating a small business - great tips to lower your taxes that your preparer may not tell you!! 5 stars!

A very thorough outline of what you can do and how to do it. I would recommend this book to anyone who is in business for themselves.

The book explains all the tax advantages of owning a small home-based business. The author provides detailed systems to establish that will capture the data required to qualify for the maximum tax breaks available. Carefully explained are the ways one must keep records to get these tax deductions, exemptions, and credits. I found the book to be very helpful in teaching me how to set up my business and a path to follow to benefit from the tax advantages.

This is a must-read for any business owner. It gives carefully documented and researched tips for reducing your taxes to the legal minimum.

I LOVE this book. I bought this figuring this was essential reading but would be a complete snooze-fest - but it has been so informative, easy to read, bullet point concise, and so hilarious, I'd swear Botkin is a closet comedian. He calls IRS tax service reps "the dumbest things on 2 legs, dumber than sheep, cattle and most plant life." I never thought I would call a tax planning book hilarious, but it is.

I'm about 3/4 way thru the book and am so impressed with the wealth of information Botkin puts in the book. I have consulted numerous CPAs before and not one would tell me how to best structure my taxes and utilize my businesses in the best possible way to minimize my taxes. It was invaluable to learn tax planning even if you are a W-2 employee and have side businesses. Also fascinating was the chapter on how the IRS works, who they audit, what %'s of people get audited - basically the more money you make, the more chance you get audited - they don't audit you based on how much deductions you take, but rather on what kind of entity you are and how much money you make. So it was quite an eye-opener and definitely makes you realize that you need to be that much more aggressive with your deductions.

Definitely worth every penny.

Great book. Very important, especially with the current administration in power. Still reading it. Plan to refer back to it in the future and read more books like this.

The book might be good if you own a business, but otherwise it won't be applicable at all.

so much information in such a little book. must read for anyone paying too much in taxes.
