installed this on my kayak and only use it in saltwater. does well in open water shows shapes of bottom structure, even kelp stringers. the gray line feature isn't the miracle they make it out to be, it's very unclear whether or not it's hard or soft surfaces there is to much mixture of black and gray on the screen in layers. programming is ok in default mode but bring the instruction manual if u want to dial it in. otherwise just in shapes alone you can find fish structure and habitat, good for the price for sure.
