A swell portrait of a wonderful character!,

Beverly Crusher is my absolute favorite sci-fi character of all time and this book doesn't let me down! I loved getting a glimpse into Beverly's heart and mind, especially when she was young. She is one of the most courageous women I know and I love how she helps Claire out. Claire is lucky to have a friend like her. Also touching is Beverly's feelings of being homesick and missing her dear grandmother. Beverly reminds me of Mary Anne Spier from the Baby-Sitters' Club series. Both are shy, sensitive, intellectually gifted, and tough.
