when it worked it worked pretty good, better than all the other products I tried.......BUT over-all this has been a terrible experience.

After purchasing this, I have had called for support 3-4 times. There is something wrong with getting this program to open after you install it.

I still cant tell if the product is legit or used as a bait and switch SCAM for a much more expensive product!

Each time I called they requested remote access, and each time they have tried to convince me that something was wrong with my computer and to buy their support package of $300+ for two years. And let me tell you they try VERY HARD to try to get you to buy their tech support package.

After the first call to tech support I called webroot, they said my computer was fine. Apparently, this is something a lot of companies do to SCAM customers.

The second time I called I realized what the tech was up to. I warned them not to try to sell me anything. I just want to be able to use the product. They ended up telling me to uninstall and reinstall. That seemed to do the trick. However, after a couple of weeks I tried to use it again but it would not open, so I called tech support.

So I called today, and got the same run around. Lying to me about what is wrong with my laptop, went into some files and oohh and ahh, I was very firm in telling them to stop that! Finally, I suggested just giving me a refund. He asked me to wait, came back tried to further convince me that there was something wrong with my laptop. He finally relented and suggested sent me a new download, which downloads completely different from the orginal link...with a new activation code.

1.0 out of 5 stars Soda PDF Professional 2012 January 31, 2013
By Jeff
Waste of my money. Type Text box wouldn't show up on Windows Vista. They wouldn't tell me what to try to fix, only that they had to remotely get on my computer. That's not going to happen. All I wanted to do was enter a P.O. # on invoice I get emailed and send it back without printing. They are more concerned about people pirating their software than helping people who bought it legit. I have never been this PO'd with any company support in my life. Looking for a better solution.

1.0 out of 5 stars The WORST product ever May 1, 2013
By Jaffen
The Soda Architect - as well as the PDF Architect from PDF Forge (both are the exact same product, no differences whatsoever)
are the worst piece of code I have ever experienced in my 40 years carrier as a Software Engineer.

Nothing - I mean NOTHING - works as expected. Fonts settings keep changing randomly when you save the file.
Some fonts do not display numbers whereas others don't show letters !!!

The Security menu is a pure fake since it is not possible to modify the document's behaviour for authorizing Printing - Signing or Saving, regardless the settings.

I am not talking on how poor the GUI is that does not permit automatically aligning fields - there is not grid! - or to set the same sizes.

Should I continue ? I could list at least 30 bugs out of which 10 at least are real show stoppers.

This product was never seriously tested.

For creating a simple form that would take otherwise 3 hours, it took me 40 hours for something that still does not work as expected.

I feel it's my duty to advertise in all possible places, social networks and other professional review, how bad this product is.

1.0 out of 5 stars My view is that they are crooks December 31, 2013
"Phone home activation" is something that I won't tolerate if there is any alternative whatsoever. What it means is that the product is tied to one machine (the identity of that machine is "fingerprinted" when the software "phones home" the be registered), which means that you get to buy it again when you migrate to a new machine. Or, if the SW vendor is dead (a pretty high probability in this business) at the time you upgrade to a new machine, you are basically screwed - period. In effect, "phone home activation" is a failure mode (and a disastrous failure mode at that) for a product -- and I'm not inclined to pay vendors for introducing disastrous failure modes into my software.

So, I look at the box carefully before I buy, to check "system requirements." If it says "internet connection required" then the product is probably going to be "phone home."

The LULU box does not indicated that an internet connection is required. (Requirements are Win XP, Vista, 7, plus processor, ram, and disk space requirements).

Once inside the box, however, and: "you will be required to register" "Fill out the forms" "An internet connection is required". The "forms," of course, want all kinds of personal information to which they are not entitled, so the product stinks on those grounds also. I value my privacy.

So. I won't use it. I bought it awhile ago, so I can't return it.

So, I regard the vendors as crooks. Since I rather know that it was intentional, a little jail time seems appropriate to me.
