About the Author

For almost two decades, Greg Evans has been praised for Luann's amusing, insightful portrayals of the issues that teens face - from coping with puberty to navigating peer pressure. Greg grew up near Disney Studios in California and has drawn cartoons for as long as he can remember. He began developing comic strip ideas in college, and after working as a graphic artist and television promotions manager, landed work as a high school art teacher. In 1985, his daughter Karen provided the spark for what became the popular strip Luann. Greg is a five-time nominee for the National Cartoonist Society's Reuben Award for Cartoonist of the Year. Today, he and his wife, Betty, live in San Marcos, California. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forget the dailies, buy this!, March 19, 2000

Can a comic strip be too good? Once you see these stories put together, and see the art enlarged, and spend some time with the characters, it's clear that this is maybe the best strip of our time. Unlike most other strips, you can read this again and again and it just keeps getting better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Most everyone can relate to her struggles..., May 25, 2008
This review is from: Luann: The Plunge (Paperback)
I have a soft spot for Luann because she is so relatable! I mean, who didn't want to be more popular in school, have a crush on a popular person who didn't notice you, or felt self-conscious about how they look? Luann faces all those issues with a vulnerability that is heartwarming.

This review is from: Luann: Curves Ahead (Paperback)
This is one the best Luann books. It addresses issues that adolescents go through with refreshing humor. I like how Brad constantly makes fun of Luann and Luann's never-ending boycraziness. I know that my friends sometimes can't stand it when I go on and on about men. I enjoyed this book, however the "connection" between Luann and Stuart never got resolved. It seemed as though he just disappeared. Still worth the read.
