Bias: I'm a big fan of electronic music from the early 90's, like Orbital, Plaid, Black Dog, early Aphex Twin and all those others who produced music that was equally melodic, rhythmic, and coherent enough to listen to whenever or wherever.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bionaut - 'Lubricate Your Living-Room' (Matador)
To avoid any possible confusion, this is NOT the Boston space rock ensemble Architectural Metaphor's side project. This is a completely different recording artist. Looks to be the band's most recent of four(4) titles. This is decent techno-electronica. Out of this CD's eighteen tracks, I liked the moving "Lush Life Electronica", "Bruder Easy", the somewhat inspiring "Wild...

This CD is a throwback to that era of the birth of IDM, a simpler time, before it got all skittish and fractured into eight hundred and eight different subgenres, and you had to outdo Autechre by programming beats with the latest Chaos Math algorithm from MIT.

This CD is great for listening to while chilling out, the title couldn't be more perfect. It has 4 or 5 outstanding tracks, and the audio palette that the tunes are drawn from is very non-confrontational, it's very gentle music as you can hear from the samples.

Rated highly, regardless of context, but especially recommended if you're searching for the music borne of the early 90s IDM set.

Might appeal to fans of Mike Ink, Kraftwerk, Stardate 1973 and Mouse On Mars.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZON pleaseeeee release this album again!!, January 3, 2010
This review is from: Lubricate Your Living-Room (Audio CD)
This album, artist and especially the title song came to my consciousness from the tv show "sex and the city" season's 4 episode 16,in which the title song "lubricate my living-room" being played as a calm background music while samantha and richard giving gifts to each other.
this song captured me since its a unique calm serenity song that will always remind me that moments in the episode and make me "live the moment".
as a big "sex and the city"'s fan i also care from the background music in the show and i succeeded collecting alot of those unique songs that appear in the show except this one which is really RARE to find in stores.

Unfortunately,i cant find this cd in music stores since they stopped getting it
from the manufacturer and also cant find it new in amazon.

maybe ppl dont buy it and it doesnt have a demand but i dont care i really love it cause the title song and the other songs arent bad at all from what i heard in the samples.

i dont like or trust in buying this cd used from other ppl who sell it since i dont know what product i will get and what its real condition.
SO PLEASEEEE PLEASEEEEEEE AMAZON RELEASE THIS CD AGAIN I PROMISE I'LL BUY IT IMMEDIETLY!!!!!(OFCOURSE IN A REASONABLE PRICE THAT CONSIDERS THE ALBUM BEING OLD)

THANKS!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice chill-out music, May 23, 2002

I first saw this in a CMJ reveiw,then I listened to it online,bought it,and now I enjoy it. This is more than ethereal;
it also has classy bleeps and even guitars. When down, listening
to this lifts my spirit and I cant think of my favorite one!
My favourites are #3 #5 #6 and others. I was pleased(with the fair exception of the dirty talk on track 1 which pulled away 3min of the song).

Being rather new to this type of music, I never know what
to expect when I place an order. I must admit, I was quite
pleased when I played it. Aside from the first cut,(mentioned later)the CD is filled with interesting sounds and great drumbeats. It keeps me moving, on the inside, yet relaxes
me at the same time. As far as the first cut, I don't know how
that trash ever made it on the disc. Major mistake committed
there, and I hope it doesn't happen again.
