For Second Amendment Supporters - and even more so, for those who are not - you must buy this book and read it! Suzanna Hupp provides a beautifully organized, clearly written account of how her tragic loss of her parents, shot in cold blood by a deranged killer in a Texas restaurant, led her to champion our Second Amendment constitutional right to self-defense across the United States.

It provides clear, rational arguments as to why law-abiding American citizens have a right to carry a firearm in their own defense and what can happen when no one but the "bad guy" is armed. It also provides a superb "how to" primer for those of us desiring to take back that right from our state legislatures who have taken it from us, as they have done in Maryland.

Ms. Hupp is a brilliant writer - clear, concise, no put-ons - with a knack for story telling that you will not soon forget. In addition, Ms. Hupp gives us something else that hasn't been front and center in our culture for a long time: Suzanna Hupp is a true American hero. She is the real deal - a doer!

She put her life on hold to champion this cause for us, incurring huge losses in personal income and self-sacrifice along the way. And she did so for one reason; because she believes so strongly in what she says.

I hope every law-abiding American citizen buys multiple copies of her book, spreads its word, and actively works to take back what was once rightfully theirs - their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Buy this book and I assure you, you will read it! I salute you Ms. Hupp, and I'd be honored to serve on your team any day!

I saw the youtube clips. I had heard her name, but I did not know who she was or what she went through. I purchased this book on recommendation from Tom Gresham of guntalk. It was one of the best reads in a while. This book is not bogged down with trivial facts and figures. It takes a look at Mrs Hupp from a personal perspective.

This book is not: A factual run down of the Lubys Shooting. It is not a political perspective of her work. It is not a firearms manual. This is not an autobiography.

This book shows her personality and gives a brief background of things that formed her mindset. She goes though what she experienced that day at Luby's and the following weeks and years. She does talk about the politics from a personal perspective. Reading this book is like sitting down and chatting with a dear friend. The message is conveyed in a way that is powerful. The way she describes somethings are like you were sitting in the room and watching this transpire.

Love or hate guns this is a great read about an average person thrust into an extreme circumstance and her will to step up and work for what she believes in.

They say that out of tragedy comes triumph. Well for Suzanna Gratia Hupp, it has. This is a must read. She has told the story of her life and the tragedy that fell on her and her family with skill and grace. She also tells of the struggle to fight for you and me as a speaker and legislator. She gives wonderful advice on how all of us can help in the battle to protect our families and our rights. This book should be required reading for all local, state, and federal politicians. But even more so for you!

Read this book and pass it on to the people in your life, who are teetering on the edge of the new civil rights movement. This book is entertaining, written in plain English, but not dumbed down. It is a very thorough recounting of what happened that fateful day at Luby's Cafeteria. It also tells the story of this woman, this tragic event inspired, to put her beliefs, values, and convictions into action. This woman has nerves of steel, a soft heart, and a zeal for the truth. I would recommend it to the most well informed pro-civil rights advocate as well as the most prejudiced Stalinist.

One my most enjoyable reads to date!

This book should be required reading by anyone trying to make a decision on wheather or not to get a concealed handgun license. Excellent reading quite emotional at times. Really speaks to the need of people being able to defend themselves.

I was vaguely aware of the Luby cafeteria shootings in the news when it happened and that one of the survivors was making statements about how she wished she were armed when it happened. It struck a chord with me as I am of the same mindset.

When I saw this book in print, I wanted to know the full story. What a good job this book does telling it! It's an easy, fast read and as the story is told gives a well-reasoned rationale for self-defense and concealed carry of firearms. In this country we can choose not to be victims.

I recommend this book to anyone who wonders why someone would want to carry a gun. (And to anyone else who just wants to read a great true-life story.)

Suzanna Hupp is a great American. After enduring a terrible ordeal, she turned her grief and anger into action, and made a difference. She is still making a difference as a speaker, teacher, and advocate.

The book is an easy afternoon's read, but one you will never, ever forget.

While Susanna Hupp is in favor of concealed carry of firearms, her main point, it seems to me, in writing this book is to fight for the right of people to defend themselves as the Second Amendment guarantees. Her parents were shot before her eyes and she was helpless. Because of laws, her weapon was in her car, not with her. She was fully capable of protecting her parents and others in the restaurant as she had the experience as well as a clear shot at the gunman. Instead, her protection was out of reach. She was only able to look on as people died, one after the other.

As Susanna points out, a gun is no more than a tool. A gun has no life of its own yet it's feared by those who do not understand it. A gun cannot kill. People kill with a gun...or a knife, or a fist, or a hammer or a....

This is such a well written book I highly recommend it to every American. She's included the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, something every American should know by heart.

This is a very well written book that addresses much more than our 2nd amendment right. The author identifies how all of our rights deteriorate to mere phrases when we refuse to take a stand.
