5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Bands out there, December 21, 2003
By James Fowler (Conway, AR USA) - See all my reviews
I've gotten to see these guys live at least 50 times. I've hung out with them at Vino's and enjoyed there music. This, in my opinion, is there best album. With songs like Littlesilver Hearts, My Best Girl, Wandering Star, Wasted, Drink Til We're Gone and others, its just a masterpiece of Alt-Country rock. Its good, sad music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Alt Country Band Out There, October 21, 2003
By A Customer
Not to reiterate what has been written in previous reviews, but you must go see this band live. The CD is incredible in its own right, one of my favorites out of my entire collection, but this band must be seen live to fully appreciate them. These guys are great songwriters, though not in any kind of complex or technical sense. Every song tells a story that you can't help but sing along too and think about the time you felt like that too. If you've every had your heart broken or broken a heart yourself, Lucero has a song for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet surprise..., October 26, 2002
By B. Lofgren "B. Lofgren" (southeastern United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I was introduced to Lucero and found a whole new appreciation for this style of music. Luckily, my first encounter with them was live in Nashville at 12th and Porter, and now I can't seem to stop listening to the CD over and over and over. The lead singer's voice is truly unique with expressive lyrics about the things of life. The steel guitar wins my heart, almost sounding as though the lyrics are moaning with it... I HIGHLY recommend this CD. It's a must! Their first CD is not too bad, either... a little more raw, a little less produced, yet I must say that this band should go FAR. I cannot WAIT for them to get themselves back to Nashvegas so I can see them live again... I'm telling you... this is THE band. :)

2.0 out of 5 stars An overrated band
I really want to like this music, but it's so formulaic and soulless. The vocals are stiffened by some forced folksiness, and the lyrics are repetitive and empty. Read more
