It's not only the best of all Visconti's films but the most beautiful movie ever done in the history of cinema. The soundtrack only confirms the artistic quality of this great achievement. Gustav Mahler becomes the hero of the Thomas Mann novella and his music is the lei motiv for this outstanding work of art which summarizes the idea of artistic creation, the platonic sentence that once you see beauty you're condemned to die. An artistic achievement of the highest rating. Mahler's 5th. Symphony adagetto couldn't get a better use. A marvelous soundtrack!

very nice cds, the original music of the period of the film death in venice. In italy you can't find this soundtrack , so it's very precious.

This is an excellent music soundtrack of the film. The music is very melancholy, but no less beautiful. It is the perfect score for the film. It is a music score that carries one far away when listening. I also have the film, and recommend that you purchase it as well as the soundtrack. That way you will appreciate the impact delivered by both.
