This small work is based upon the author's personal dreams & exercises with Lucid Dreaming--i.e. dreams in which the dreamer is conscious of being in a dream while dreaming. It is not as definitive as Laberge's works (Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming & Lucid Dreaming: A Concise Guide to Awakening in Your Dreams and in Your Life ), but does provide some useful information/suggestions esp. on how to remain lucid once attaining that state within the dream as well as what to do once one has reasonably mastered the technique. The context here is the Edgar Cayce readings (extensively quoted). Cayce was a 20th c. psychic--one of the best, if not THE best (The Edgar Cayce Primer: Discovering the Path to Self Transformation). His legacy is maintained by the Association for Research & Enlightenment (ARE) in Virginia Beach, VA. However, Lucid dreaming has also been taught in some American Indian traditions as well as in Tibet (Dream Yoga: The Practice of Lucid Dreaming as a Path to Enlightenment). It's part of an overall spiritual approach, but has great psychological implications as well--indeed, this work includes a number of quotes from the works of Carl Jung (see Psychology and Religion: West and East (The Collected Works of C. G. Jung, Volume 11)). The 1st 1/2 of the book was IMHO less than wonderful, but the last several sections were quite helpful. I think the author's practical areas were more valuable than the theory.
