WOW. That about sums it up. If the Freddy Jones Band gets a break, then they will be HUGE. If you like Dave Matthews, Guster, or Blue Traveler then FJB is right up your ally.

If you are unfamiliar with FJB, get this album, it is quintessential. I know many will maintain that Waiting For the Night is the best, but I'm not looking for roots, I'm looking for creativity and evolution in a band. It is a modern tragedy that the Freddy Jones Band broke apart, but their legend will live on in albums that bring you back to heart of music.

This was my first taste of FJB, and there is no other CD of the several hundred we own that I truly love from start to finish - there is not one song that I ever skip over when I listen to it. The listening gets better over time as the subtle complexities of the vocals and the guitars start to sink in. It came as a refreshing surprise when I first heard it - the guys have a unique and original sound, which is why we probably never hear them on the radio. While Lucid has a more polished and produced feel to it than North Avenue Wake Up Call, it still did not stike me as "commercial" in the least. It's a great companion on a long road trip.
