GREAT READ! Should Be Made Into A Movie,

I must admit that this was an impulse purchase and one that I wasn't really expecting to be as good as it was. Something about the description interested me but I let the book sit on my iPad for a week or so before finally diving into it one night.
Well, 'Lucid' turned out to be quite a pleasant and scary surprise! I personally love books that can really make me visualize a movie as I read them as well as books which keep up the pace, unlike many overly complicated books by authors more interested in showing off their dexterity than spinning a solid ripping yarn. 'Lucid' is a VERY entertaining book that clearly shows the power of the new blood in ebook self-publishing. It's deeply suspenseful, witty (without being heavy handed), never boring, and introduces characters who are instantly recognizable, realistic and likable. The climax was utterly terrifying and played like the ending of one hell of a horror movie! It was a real nail-biter and revealed a solid shocking twist that utterly floored me! With great difficulty I found only a single significant fault with this book. It might have been improved with just a few pages less of dialog. I realize that it's necessary to flesh out characters but some of the dialog wasn't as succinct as it could have been. But then again neither is dialog in real life, so there you go. Still, in a book I'd like to see more conversations focusing on the story / mystery itself rather than continuing to reinforce a character's personality via nuance and small talk. This is a minor criticism and is really the only thing I can think of to improve this already excellent book. 'Lucid' should be made into a movie. It's a brisk read and is easy to imagine the scenes playing out in movie form. Katherine Angela Yeboah is a hot new talent to keep an eye on. Already her prose is accessible and fluid, wisely avoiding overly stylistic flourishes which may highlight any inadequacies at this point. Hers is a smooth inviting and confident style that never allows one to lose interest. She's also disciplined enough to hide her best cards until the time is right, teasing readers with frequent interesting nuggets and building a strong foundation for suspense with masterful, eerie foreshadowing. Then, when she's ready to strike Yeboah certainly delivers the scares and twists! Four and and a half stars. Highly Recommended.

I thought that Lucid was a very excellent book. The plot was great, and the ending had a nice twist. The only downside was that the ending seemed too abrupt. Otherwise, the book was thrilling and I couldn't put it down until the end. I would highly recommend it.
