Customer Reviews

This guitar is a great beginner instrument.

Still, it's a pretty good thing for tinkering around on or doing memorization work without worrying about performance-quality playing.

I tried changing the strings and I tried tightening the pegs, it is AWFUL!

I'm an experienced classical guitarist and purchased this instrument as an armchair guitar, something small to relax with. Lucida makes a surprisingly good full-size guitar, so I decided to try this one. As usual with new nylon strings, it takes some breaking-in before it will stay in tune. This has nothing to do with the guitar itself, which improves with a few hours of play; the tone is surprisingly hefty for the small size. The only real problem is with the string spacing. Although the neck is wide enough to allow for slightly wider spacing, re-grooving the nut is not feasible because the fret wires don't quite reach all the way across the neck, meaning that some of the neck width is not actually usable. As an adult with average-size hands, I find the string spacing troublesome, and I can't see re-fretting a guitar that's so cheap to begin with. A child, or an adult with very small fingertips, would find this instrument more congenial. Still, it's a pretty good thing for tinkering around on or doing memorization work without worrying about performance-quality playing.

I'm very pleased with my purchase of this Lucida LK-2-3/4 student guitar. For its intended purpose it's a screaming great deal. I wanted a travel/beach guitar that sounded good and wouldn't bring tears to my eyes when it took a hit and this one fills the bill! It's really pretty out of the box and it sounds pretty good too, the action is very comfortable, e-z to play and best of all it was less than $50 and that included free shipping! Its no Taylor or Martin, but then I didn't want an expensive guitar that I had to worry over. Inexpensive doesn't necessarily mean cheap...
Thanks Amazon.com!!!

I have been playing the guitar for years, and even though this is not a high quality guitar, it plays just fine and tunes just fine for beginners or people who do not intend to go on concerts. It is perfect for a sunday amateur play :)
I bought it because it is classical and I was in the US just for several months.
Would buy again!

I read some reviews for this product and most of them seemed pretty good, but I was disappointed when I got the guitar. Yes, it's aesthetically pleasing, but it slips and loses its tuning CONSTANTLY and the tuners themselves are cheap plastic. I don't recommend this guitar at all unless you are expecting it to break easily.

This 3/4 size guitar is just the right size for my 9 year old. She is on the petite size, so it fits her hands much better than a full size one. Plus this is affordable so if she decides that the guitar isn't really for her, then I didn't spend a fortune on an expensive one. It sounds great and tunes ok, but I'm sure it will tune better after she has been playing on it a while. I recommend this for younger kids to pre-teen, especially if they are just starting and have small hands.
