More About the Author

You've reached the Amazon Profile Page for Tracy Cooper-Posey, author of romantic suspense and erotic romantic suspense, and lots of other stuff in between.

I also write as Teal Ceagh -- publishing erotic urban fantasy and paranormal romances with Ellora's Cave.

I have a lot to say (you may have noticed when you landed here) and tend to be opinionated. I also love a good discussion.

But you may have clicked on this page to learn about me, too, so here's the dirt:

When I tell people I've been writing since I was 14 they tend to look at me a little oddly, but it's quite true. I fell in love with Harrison Ford and Star Wars at the exact same moment, and wrote the unofficial sequel in the following year. Of course, I had Han Solo and Leia falling in love long before the sequel came along, and in much more satisfying fashion than George Lucas ever managed.

What I didn't realize at the time, and not for another twenty years or so, was that I had been writing fanfic, possibly the first of its kind.

On a completely off-topic side-note, I used to lie awake at night, listening to the Star Wars soundtrack on my record player, and re-playing the movie in my head, fantasizing about how wonderful it would be to somehow be able to play the movie at home, whenever I wanted. Eight years later I saw my first Beta cassette player. It was the size of a small suitcase and weighed 45 pounds. A few years after that I got to buy my first VHS movie-Star Wars. That was a reflective moment in my life.

However, while things have clearly changed over the years since my first bad attempt at getting a hero and heroine together on paper, two things have not. I'm still writing romances, and I'm still throwing my hero and heroine through a fair imitation of hell while they're sorting their feelings for each other out -- the essence of romantic suspense.

But hey, here's the boring stuff: I'm Australian, although I live in Canada. I still have the accent, although I've been here over a decade now. And I still have trouble remembering it's a hood, not a bonnet, and stuff like that -- you'd be amazed how hard-wired culture really is. It calcifies internally, I think. But the mountains here are stupendous, so I think I'll stick around. Besides, my husband is kinda cute. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention? I met him on the Internet back when it was a few HTML pages and a couple of bulletin boards or two, and me and the kids (three of us) packed up and moved here.

The kids are no longer really kids any more. They're both taller than me now, but I didn't say that aloud, okay? I'd still like them to think I'm the boss for a while longer, at least.

4.0 out of 5 stars Must Read, December 30, 2009
This review is from: Lucifer's Lover (Hardcover)
Don't let the title throw you, this is a romance and a very good one at that! Betting with Lucifer by Tracy Cooper-Posey has just been re-released in ebook format Dec 10th.

This is the story of Lyndsey and Lucifer (Luke), co-workers, rivals and lovers. Lyndsey has a few issues, trying to live up to her mother's memories and achievements only aiming to surpass them she has been a little more than disturbed with the presents of Luke at the hotel. Luke is from NY, the newest addition to the Freeman Hotel and the office ladies man, a mystery, a charmer and is kicking her butt in their sales numbers......almost!

In the opening scene Luke sets her up to fail on a bet just to get a date with her. As much as I wanted to scream, what a slime Luke charmed me too. There was already something wounded about him and knew that I just wanted to read more and dig deeper to find out what made Luke tick.

Lyndsey on the other had I understood, brilliant on her own right but in the wrong profession and for all the wrong reasons, a woman who gets anxiety attacks from public speaking is in charge of Marketing and client relations? What I did adore about her is that she couldn't help but say what came to her mind. Filter not included! Needless to say she loses the bet and from that moment their fates are set in motion. Luke carries so many dark secrets, who is he really, why does he disappear to NYC every weekend and what is he doing? Lyndsey can't help but want to dive right in and discover what makes Luke tick. What is the deal with his past and that eclectic family she keeps hearing about. Something just isn't quite right. Forgiving him for tricking her into the bet in the first place they are once again at odds until both learn trust. Watching them grow together and learn about who they were and what they truly meant to each other was so heartfelt as both Luke and Lyndsey come to realize that the lives they have so strategically planned out for themselves aren't making them happy, but completely miserable. Tracy was able to pull me in as though I was experiencing all their joys and struggles with them, both Luke and Lyndsey's emotions so candid and raw. A roller coaster of anger, fear, passion and love I was simply swept away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Romance You Won't Want To Miss!!!, December 29, 2005
This review is from: Lucifer's Lover (Hardcover)
Ms. Cooper-Posey has done it again! "Lucifer's Lover" is an emotionally vested romance between two people who think they know what they want. Fact is they truly have no clue until fate forces them to face them to take a cold hard look at what's important.

Lyndsay is working hard to achieve the professional goals she's set for herself. She's hard working, determined, and failure is not an option. She is well on her way to seeing these goals met until someone throws her a curve, and that curve is none other than Luke. Luke irritates Lyndsay to no end! Now they're working together not as boss and co-worker, but instead as equals. Together they make things happen and allow the chemistry that's been slowly burning in the background to move center stage. But, what will happen between them when things don't go according to plan, and life actually has the nerve to get in the way? Will Lyndsay take a chance and reach for happiness, or will Luke's secrets and personal fears keep them from finding a love of a lifetime?

Lyndsay and Luke are exceptionally drawn characters. Ms. Cooper-Posey is a master at creating character's a reader will truly care about. She's not afraid to create a lead character that's not "perfect" in every way. Both Lyndsay and Luke have their own share of emotional baggage that has gone a long way into forming the adults they've become. The conflict between Lyndsay and Luke is not only believable but also entertaining. As a result the reader is treated to a well-choreographed dance between two people looking for love, acceptance, and a happy ending. Ms. Cooper-Posey writes with heart and is a gift to the writing industry.
