5.0 out of 5 stars The Grass Is Always Greener, But Is It?, October 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Luckiest One of All (Paperback)
My kids, 5 and 7, enjoy this book, we've read it many times. Bill Peet books are favorites in our home. Of course it is OK to think about what it is like to be someone else, everyone does that sometimes. The great lesson is to realize that everyone has a journey that is filled with trials and triumphs. No matter who we are there are things to be grateful for and challenges that make us who we are...unique and wonderful. Great book!

Bill Peet is an amazing author/illustrator. We have several of his books and enjoy every one. This book is about the lesson of being thankful for what you can do and not wishing you were somebody or something else. Although it is fun every now and then to imagine how other people or animals or things would live, it's always nice to come back to how lucky you are to be you. And as always, written in the wonderful rhyming way that Bill Peet can do. He uses words that continually add to my 5 yr old son's vocabulary. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Neat book, September 27, 2011
This review is from: The Luckiest One of All (Paperback)
I loved Bill Peet books as a child, and I still really like them today. I recently bought the whole set so that my children will have them, and realized that I remember every character and every plot from 20+ years ago when my parents read them to me. They really made an impact on me. The illustrations are cute and captivating, the characters are engaging, the stories and well told, and each book has a meaning. There are few authors who can create such a fine balance in childrens' books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Teaching Gratitude, August 22, 2006
By
This is a wonderful book to give to young boys. My sons and nephews enjoy the message(s) of being happy with who you are, looking on the bright side of things, and being grateful for what you've been given. I love Bill Peet! If you're looking for other titles of his worth purchasing, I recommend --- (1) The Wump World, (2) Farewell to Shady Glade, (3) The Caboose Who Got Loose, and (4) The Whingdingdilly. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Life is so. You've got to accept it as it is., November 20, 1997
By A Customer
To be an adult at my thirties, the book is not only fun, but kind of sad (because of being too true ) for me.

This is life. You've got to just accept it. Like how you look, what the birth background you have.... Taking the facts, then you can get relieved, and, furthermore enjoy what you have.
