Editorial Reviews

Product Description
In his time as chief photographer at Rolling Stone, Mark Seliger shot the top names in music, with whom he developed lasting friendships. During that period Seliger also began writing his own music. Jakob Dylan heard Seliger's material and was impressed enough to invite him to his studio to record and write.

Dylan uses the phrase lonesome music to describe the Rusty Truck sound and Seliger agrees: It is kind of lonesome. It has a lot of my influences, everything from ZZ Top to Neil Young, Leon Russell and Tex-Mex to Wilco.

Originally available as a limited release under the title Broken Promises, this debut album has been expanded and thoroughly re-imagined as Luck's Changing Lanes, giving Mark Seliger's songs and unique American imagery the presentation they deserve. It s been quite a journey but this beautiful collection speaks for itself.

Special guests: T Bone Burnett, Sheryl Crow, Jakob Dylan, Lenny Kravitz, Willie Nelson, Rob Thomas, Gillian Welch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really nice surprize!, November 25, 2008
By SKO (Hanover, NH) - See all my reviews
I bought this album after hearing "Cold Ground" on an episode of HBO's "True Blood". This is not my usual music genre, but I can not stop listening to this album! The harmonies are really lovely. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST.......PERIOD!, October 17, 2008

(REAL NAME)
This is without a doubt one of the best overall compilations I have ever heard. a perfect mix of haunting country and folk music that most everyone can enjoy. this is one of those albums you feel you have almost found a buried treasure. you want to keep it to yourself, but feel you must share the wealth and excitement of it all. A bit flowery for a description, I must admit, but listen to the tracks and you'll find yourself lost in the stories. perfect for anyone who enjoys light country with a great story. FIVE STARS AND WANTING TO GIVE MORE.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice debut w/ great guest artists. Surround DVD is a nice bonus., August 26, 2008
Was referred to Rusty Truck by a friend. Great value w/ a CD & DVD. Nice combo of Americana, blues & folk...and not too country. Superb quality recordings. Great guest artists w/ Sheryl Crow, Jakob Dylan, Willie Nelson. Best thing about the album was the companion DVD that contained creatively mixed DTS surround recordings and 5 beautifully shot music videos. I hope to hear more from this artist.
