Was referred to Rusty Truck by a friend. Great value w/ a CD & DVD. Nice combo of Americana, blues & folk...and not too country. Superb quality recordings. Great guest artists w/ Sheryl Crow, Jakob Dylan, Willie Nelson. Best thing about the album was the companion DVD that contained creatively mixed DTS surround recordings and 5 beautifully shot music videos. I hope to hear more from this artist.

I bought this album after hearing "Cold Ground" on an episode of HBO's "True Blood". This is not my usual music genre, but I can not stop listening to this album! The harmonies are really lovely. Highly recommended!

Bought the mp for Cold Ground but then I listened to the album and loved them all! Rusty Truck should be on everyone's IPOD. They have a unique sound, lovely lyrics, and they rock!! It is good to hear Willy doing his thing, too. This group should be at the top. Wonderful!!

Saxophone kills a perfect album at 1:56 Sec. into last song,
This review is from: Luck's Changing Lanes (Audio CD)
This album and this singer are a breath of fresh air. I NEVER listen to country music, although i was born in Texas, but this album really sang me into a numb understanding of what good country music is. Until song #12 Prey... this song was the best, it really left me breathless until about 1:56 into the song...then the Saxophone (which is never forementioned, nore featured in any other song.) began to play its horrific jumbled nonsensicle solo, this instrument has plagued good music since its creation in 1841. It has killed yet another song in my eyes, and this song has to be the most amazing one to me...i'm now in the market for data/music editing software to cut out the sax-fromhell solo at 1:56-2:32 and replace it with just good guitar and Bongo/Congo's (which oddly enough make more sense in the song)

I heard of this album on NPR. It was recommended by Brian Williams on Bri Tunes. Sheryl Crow and Willy Nelson add gravitas to Rusty Truck. The songs are sung and written by a photographer who sings and plays guitar as a hobby. He wrote the lyrics and does the vocals. The lyrics are often used to create images in the listener's mind.If you like Poco, you'll like this music. It's a blend of country, folk, and pop music, mellow and easy to listen to. L.W.

This really surprised me. What a talented guy. Too bad it's his side gig. A great blend 70's, 80's and today's rootsy pop, all mixed in a brand fantastic songwriting that is above what you'll hear anywhere today. If you took a mixture of Todd Rungren, Niel Young, America, Seals & Crofts, The Band, and you put their best efforts together, you'd get Rusty Truck. I hope we get more in the future.

Most Underrated Album Ever!,

This album first came out as Broken Promises and I never understood why it never made it anywhere. This album is a beautiful imagined hybrid of 90's Wilco, 70s Pure Prairie League and every meticulously produced Americana album in between (Jayhawks, Ryan Adams, et al). Catchy, hummable, impeccably played, recorded and produced, the HBO series True Blood "resurrected" this band with the use of the song "Cold Ground". Every song on this album sounds like a hit! Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!

Rusty Truck is not your ordinary country music. The song "Cold Ground" is one of my favorites on this album. Most of the songs on this album are very soothing and you'll be sure to be put in a good mood. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with an interest in modern country music. Buy this album!

This is without a doubt one of the best overall compilations I have ever heard. a perfect mix of haunting country and folk music that most everyone can enjoy. this is one of those albums you feel you have almost found a buried treasure. you want to keep it to yourself, but feel you must share the wealth and excitement of it all. A bit flowery for a description, I must admit, but listen to the tracks and you'll find yourself lost in the stories. perfect for anyone who enjoys light country with a great story. FIVE STARS AND WANTING TO GIVE MORE.
