Sommer Marsden knows how to tell a story. The fact that her stories are sexy is an added bonus--but even without the sex, the pieces hold together tight, leaving memories that linger. Her dialogue is dangerously good. You feel as if you're sitting right next to her characters, eavesdropping. But the descriptions are what really pull you in:

*He was staring at my mouth. At my bottom lip. I bit it. It was dirty fighting. I knew it. But I did it anyway. I would fight dirty if I had to for just one night with a man who wanted me. Wanted to f-ck me without consuming me. Or breaking me down. Who was secure enough to simply want me--and then take me.*

The book contains 13 frisky tales. My favorites were Pause, Masturbation 101, Underpass, and She Looked Good In Ribbons. But every single piece resonated with me.

From the upbeat to the offbeat, from the dark and dirty to the "God help me, just do me" -- this anthology is sure to please.

I've been a fan of Sommer Marsden for a few years now, and this collection is perfect for longtime admirers and newcomers alike. Just like her characters, Ms. Marsden understands implicitly that our biggest sex organ is our brain. Her stories aren't simply white-knuckle thrill ride sex, although that's certainly there in spades, but instead she knows exactly how and when to sucker-punch you right in the heart. "She Looked Good In Ribbons" is still my favorite erotica story of all time. "Open All Night", "Fresh Meat" and "Mrs. Polenesi" are all in my Top Ten as well, but every single entry in this compilation is worth the price of admission. If you like smarts with your smut, do yourself a favor and get lucky with Sommer.

Ms. Marsden's talents first came to my attention because of her frequent appearance in the anthologies edited by Alison Tyler. Again, and again, the name would crop up, always tied with a story that had strongly developed characters, were sizzling hot, and understood that the fastest way to arouse anyone of any gender or sexual orientation was to engage the organ everyone has in common--the brain.

Sometimes, you want to devour just one writer's style and passion, and this anthology allows you to explore Ms. Marsden's work in that way.

Sometimes the thing's we're forced to wait for are the very best things. And sometimes, waiting is severely overrated. Try Sommer's work sooner, rather than later, and you will see what I mean.

Sommer Marsden's impeccable instincts for stoking the erotic flame at the heart of a story, her sincere foundation of compassion and sensitivity, and her flair for sympathetic comedy at just the right moments have made her one of today's most beloved erotic story authors. The publication of a hand-picked collection of her short pieces in an all-Marsden volume is truly a cause for rejoicing among erotica connoisseurs.

This collection of 13 wild and woolly tales runs the gamut of some great kink, all written in a delightful, conversational way. Sommer paints mental pictures that will leave you panting.

I know I'm in for a real treat whenever I read anything by this talented author. I love Sommer's wit, and her desirable and likable characters that I can relate to on so many levels. Sommer's a master at stirring up those raw emotions deep inside of me, which keeps me coming back for more.

Lucky 13 will have you turning page after page in passionate delight - I loved each story, but some of my favorites were: Pause, Open All Night: Clair, Masturbation 101, and She looked Good in Ribbons.

I highly recommend getting lucky with Lucky 13.

This was a fantastic read! I had planned to enjoy reading these to my husband, but instead devoured the collection and let him reap the rewards. Each of the 13 stories are engrossing, with full developement of characters and well set scenes. The sex is simply HOT!

Lucky 13 is a delicious collection of stories that grab hold of you and don't let go until the end, where you're left wanting more.
