5.0 out of 5 stars One of the GREATEST cd you will ever own!!
This is one of my favorite cds. Briad is such an amazing band, and they prove it by this live album. The opportunity of hearing their raw talent, is one that should never be passes up. Because it is a live album, it is a little difficult to hear the screams and "yeah"'s, which are my favoite part. This is a great cd if it is the first Braid CD you purchase,...

3.0 out of 5 stars "Lucky..." Is For Braid Fanatics Only
Lucky to Be Alive is merely a recording of Braid live. While it captures the energy and enthusiasm that these guys put on the road, it is hardly their "swan song". The packaging is a bit disappointing -- mostly pics of their van and not of them live. Don't buy this disc unless you've bought the others and can't get enough!

Because it is a live album, it is a little difficult to hear the screams and "yeah"'s, which are my favoite part. This is a great cd if it is the first Braid CD you purchase, because it has a wide variety of songs from all albums, even including some new songs. If you like this CD, I recomend that you go out and by the others. Then you can get the full effect of the yells, like in "the new nathan detroit". So all of you wondering wether to buy this album, get it now!! I promise that you wont regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lucky to sing along, March 30, 2001

This is an awesome addition to any Braid collection. This is such a great cd, made better for me considering that i was there at this show. it was my first time seeing them, kinda ironic, no? well, either way, i was floored at the show, and it totally continues and is heard in this cd. All the energy is there from the full lengths and then some. If you need more evidence of the great show they put on, they now have a video of the last few days of the band. it includes clips from their last five shows, Milwaukee, Fireside(chicago), Metro, Fireside "not so secret secret show", and then back to Champaign where it all began. Also ther are interviews from band members. Yeah, so, if you like the band even just a little bit, then you will grow to love this cd, just try to keep the tears welled up inside.

Braid is one of those bands that is so fun to listen to you can put their CD on repeat and never get tired of it. This CD is great and really inexpensive so I reccomend that anyone into Get Up Kids, Promise Ring, or Mineral buy this CD. You will not be disappointed, this is one of the best live CDs I have ever heard.

In this near last show (day before) live effort, Braid plays an amazing set with full flowing emotion and pure energy. Fun stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Braid's Swan Song, May 1, 2000
By A Customer

They rocked. This is one of the best live records I've ever heard-- it's from the Metro show the day before they came down to Champaign and played.

No worries-- 3 out of 4 of them (minus Broach) are doing a little project up in Milwaukee called (from the best of my recollection) "Hey Mercedes," which in essence is Braid II. I can hardly wait to see what happens.

If you're a Braidhead, you'll go nuts over this. Also, the packaging is amazingly awesome.
